Allocating Land Acquired for the Kaihu Valley Railway to the Purposes of Road

ARTHUR PORRITT, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the Gazette, become road and that the said road shall be under the control of the Hobson County Council and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—HOBSON COUNTY

All those pieces of Railway land described as follows:

A. R. P. S.O. Plan Coloured Blocks

5 0 13.6 46242 Yellow II and VI.

0 3 7 46243 Sepia VI.

2 2 11.1 46243 Sepia VI and VII.

0 2 18.2 46243 Sepia VII.

2 2 11.8 46244 Sepia VII.

All situated in Kaihu Survey District.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plans marked L.O. 25203, 25204, and 25205 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above-mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 12th day of January 1971.

Appointment of Honorary Consul for Chile at Auckland

His Excellency the Governor-General directs it to be notified that the appointment of Mr. J. I. Ibieta Egana as Honorary Consul for Chile at Auckland has been provisionally recognised.

Member of the Redwood Pest Destruction Board Reappointed (Notice No. Ag. 10749)

Pursuant to section 48 (3) of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General has been satisfied that no elector qualified for appointment is available and willing to accept office and has therefore been pleased to reappoint Mervyn Alex Craven to be a member of the Redwood Pest Destruction Board.

Member of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Council Reappointed (Notice No. Ag. 10750)

Pursuant to section 4 of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, the Minister of Agriculture hereby reappoints Geoffrey Millis Findley (on the nomination of the South Island Pest Destruction Boards’ Association)

to be a member of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Council for a term of 3 years commencing on 1 April 1971.
