84.61 Cocks and valves—continued

(9) Plugcocks, bronze, screwed and flanged straight through or 3-way, sizes ½ in. to 4 in. (But not sleeves packed plugcocks).
(10) Valves of a type used on bulk fuel tankers, viz:
(a) Pressure vacuum valves, aluminium, screwed.
(b) Bottom outlet valves, aluminium or bronze sizes 3 in. and 4 in. flanged.
(11) Check valves of any kind of bronze, suited for use with steam or water, of the following types and working pressures—
(a) Flanged horizontal type ¾ in. to 6 in. with stainless steel or bronze seat and a working pressure of 50 to 250 p.s.i.
(b) Flanged and screwed swing type 2½ in. to 4 in. with bronze seat and a working pressure of 50 to 100 p.s.i.
(c) Screwed vertical type 2½ in. to 3 in. with bronze seat and a working pressure of 50 to 200 p.s.i.
(d) Horizontal check valves ½ in. to 2 in. fibre or teflon seats and a working pressure up to 150 p.s.i.
(12) Treacle cocks, bronze 1 in. to 3 in.
(13) Blow down plugcock, flanged, asbestos packed, double gland bronze 1 in. to 2 in. used for blowing down boilers or pressure vessels and tested up to 500 p.s.i.
(14) Needle valves, of bronze, in-line types, sizes ¼ in., ⅜ in. and ½ in. B.S.P.
(15) Pressure reducing valves of bronze, pilot operated, flanged and screwed, stainless steel seat and valve, sizes ½ in. to 2 in. up to 250 p.s.i.
(16) Valves of a type used by service station petrol pumps—
(a) Petrol pump dispensing nozzles.
(b) Petrol pump dispensing nozzles, automatic shut-off types, which operate at up to 30 g.p.m. at pressures from 5-90 p.s.i.
(17) Valves, drum compensating types, being air reducing valves of the types used to pressurise oil storage containers having a capacity of 12½, 44 and 60 gallons or more.
(18) Solenoid valves.
(19) Aerosol valves, with or without actuators, suitable for one inch neck-opening aerosol containers.
(20) Check valves:
(a) Wafer type, ductile iron body, stainless steel flap and seat, sized 2" to 12". Working pressure: water, oil, gas, 275 p.s.i. (600 ft. head) saturated steam at 150 p.s.i. (As options these valves may have soft seat insert and/or fitted with back flush lever, adjustable counter balance and cam operated micro switch).
(b) Backflow preventor double checkvalves, 2" to 12" suitable working pressure 275 p.s.i.

*Approvals lapse on the dates indicated, the goods thereafter being dutiable according to their substantive Tariff classification. If continuation of an approval is desired for a further period, formal application should be made to the Collector at least 6 weeks prior to the date of expiry.
