The Traffic (Hamilton City and Waikato County) Notice No. 1, 1971

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Hamilton City and Waikato County) Notice No. 1, 1971.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  4. The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  5. The notice under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 6th day of May 1970†, which relates to Hamilton City and Waikato County, is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situated within Hamilton City:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from the north-western boundary of Hamilton City to Vardon Road and from Mangaonua Stream to Riverlea Road and from a point 3 chains measured southerly generally along the said highway from Anglesea Street to a point 2 chains measured westerly generally along the said highway from Johnsview Terrace).

No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) (from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 3 chains measured northerly generally along the said highway from Lorne Street and from the southern boundary of Hamilton City to a point 5 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said highway from Tomin Road).

No. 23 State Highway (Hamilton-Raglan) (from the western boundary of Hamilton City to a point 9 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from Poaka Avenue).

No. 26 State Highway (Hamilton-Kopu) (from the eastern boundary of Hamilton City to a point 7 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said State highway from Berkley Avenue).

Avalon Drive (from the northern boundary of Hamilton City to Rotokauri Road).

Bryant Road (from Sandwich Road to a point 20 chains measured south-westerly generally along Bryant Road from Sandwich Road).

Collins Road (from a point 1 chain measured south-westerly generally along the said road from Prisk Street to the south-western boundary of Hamilton City).

Crosby Road (from a point measured easterly generally along the said road from Winstone Avenue to the eastern boundary of Hamilton City).

Delamare Road.

Grand View Road (from Newcastle Road to a point 22 chains measured south-westerly generally along Grand View Road from Roy Street).

Hillsborough Terrace (from the southern side of Tisdall Street to the No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth)).

Hukanui Road (from the northern boundary of Hamilton City to a point 4 chains measured northerly generally along the said road from Gerrand Place).

Marnane Terrace.

Newcastle Road (from the No. 23 State Highway (Hamilton-Raglan) to a point 14 chains measured northerly generally along the said road from the said State highway and from Ellicott Road to the western boundary of Hamilton City).

Peacocks Road (from the south-eastern boundary of Hamilton City to Norrie Street).

Pukete Road (from the northern boundary of Hamilton City to the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff)).

River Road (from the northern boundary of Hamilton City to a point 8 chains measured northerly generally along the said road from Arran Road).

Ruakura Road (from Silverdale Road to a point 7 chains measured easterly generally along Ruakura Road from Peach-grove Road).

Sandwich Road (from Pukete Road to St. Andrews Terrace).

Tramway Road (from the north-eastern boundary of Hamilton City to a point 10 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said road from Insoll Avenue).

Tuhikaramea Road (from the south-western boundary of Hamilton City to a point 31 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from the No. 23 State Highway (Hamilton-Raglan)).

SITUATED within Hamilton City and Waikato County, adjacent to Hamilton City:

Silverdale Road (from Ruakura Road to Carrington Avenue and from the No. 26 State Highway (Hamilton-Kopu) to a point 9 chains measured north-westerly generally along Silver-dale Road from the said State highway).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Hamilton City:

Peacocks Road (from the south-eastern boundary of Hamilton City to Norrie Street).

THIRD SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Hamilton City and Waikato County:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from Pukete Road to Vardon Road and from a point 3 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Anglesea Street to a point 2 chains measured westerly generally along the said State highway from Johnsview Terrace).
