Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954—Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union

PURSUANT to section 85 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954, it is hereby notified that the registration of the Marlborough Timber Industry Employees' Industrial Union of Workers, Registered No. 1943, situated at 29 Warwick Street, Blenheim, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

The Royal Society of New Zealand

PURSUANT to the Royal Society of New Zealand Act 1965, the Fellows of the Royal Society of New Zealand, at the annual general meeting held on 19 May 1971, passed resolutions amending the rules of the Society published in the Gazette on 22 December 1965, 29 June 1967, 13 June 1968, and 4 June 1970, the effect of such resolutions being:

SECTION E—THE MEMBER BODIES' COMMITTEE
RULE E 1 (c) was amended to read:

(c) The representative of the New Zealand Division of the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science.

SECTION J—THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF RESEARCH
In Rule J VIII (4) the word “transactions” was replaced by the word “journal”.

SECTION M—HONORARY MEMBERS
This section was amended to read:

M. 1.
The Council may appoint honorary members (being persons not normally resident in New Zealand) provided that the total number of honorary members shall not exceed 30.

M. 2.
Vacancies in the list of honorary members shall be announced at each annual general meeting and such announcement shall be communicated as early as possible to each member body. Each member body and any group of three or more Fellows may nominate one person for each vacancy and shall send to the General Secretary of the Society before 15 November, the names, descriptions, and addresses of persons so nominated, together with the grounds on which their election is recommended.

M. 3.
The list of nominees shall be referred to the Fellowship Selection Committee. This committee shall meet and after discussion of the qualifications of the candidates shall submit to the annual general meeting of Fellows the names of those recommended for appointment as honorary members.

Special consideration shall be given to each candidate's eminence in the scientific field and to his association with New Zealand.

M. 4.
The Fellows at the annual general meeting shall recommend the candidates for appointment by the incoming council at its first meeting.

M. 5.
The title of honorary members shall be “Honorary Member of the Royal Society of New Zealand.”

SECTION N—PUBLICATIONS
In RULES N. 1 (b) and (c) and N. 4 the word “transactions” was replaced by the word “journal”.

Unclaimed Property—Notice of Election by the Public Trustee to Become Manager Under Public Trust Office Act 1957, Part V

WHEREAS Keith Edward Bradford, of Waimarama, contractor, is the owner of the property mentioned in the Schedule hereto: and whereas after due inquiry the Public Trustee does not know where the said Keith Edward Bradford is, or whether he is alive or dead, or whether he has any agent or administrator in New Zealand with authority to take possession of and administer the said property: and whereas the gross value of the said property (as estimated by the Public Trustee) does not exceed $4,000 and, for the purposes of subsection (2) of section 80 of the Public Trust Office Act 1957, the Public Trustee is satisfied that it is advisable that he should become the manager of the said property: now, therefore, the Public Trustee in exercise of the authority conferred upon him by the said subsection (2), hereby elects to be manager of the said property, under Part V of the said Act.
