Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 13) 1971
PURSUANT to regulation 16 of the Import Control Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:
-
(a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 13) 1971.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette. -
Goods of the classes specified in the Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

Goods of such classes or kinds as may be approved by the Minister, being goods imported by such organisations as he may approve, and which he is satisfied are gifts from persons or organisations overseas for the relief of victims of disasters.

The Motor Launch (Lake Aratiatia and Waikato River) Notice 1971
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, the Minister of Marine and Fisheries hereby gives the following notice:
-
(a) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Lake Aratiatia and Waikato River) Notice 1971.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette, and shall remain in force for a period of 1 year after that date. -
Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, regulation 11 (c) of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 shall not apply during the hours of daylight to any jet boat holding a current survey certificate issued under Part IV of the Shipping and Seamen Act 1952 within the area described in the First Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that area of water on Lake Aratiatia and the Waikato River between a point† marked by a notice board on the western bank of the river approximately 100 yd downstream from the Huka Falls and a point‡ marked by a notice board on the eastern side of the lake approximately 400 yd upstream from the Aratiatia Dam.
SECOND SCHEDULE

This notice shall not apply during the open season for shooting of water fowl in the Rotorua district.

This notice shall not apply to jet boats while passing the Wairakei Geothermal Power Station area which shall be marked as follows:
(a) In a prominent position on the western bank of the Waikato River approximately 250 yd downstream from the Wairakei Power Station there shall be placed a notice board 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted highway yellow with black lettering in the following form:
WAIRAKEI POWER STATION
MAXIMUM SPEED ALL BOATS
5 M.P.H.
BETWEEN THIS POINT AND A POINT MARKED BY A NOTICE BOARD IMMEDIATELY UPSTREAM OF THE JUNCTION OF THE WAIRAKEI HOT STREAM.
(b) In a prominent position on the western bank of the Waikato River immediately upstream of the confluence of the Wairakei Stream and the Waikato River there shall be placed a notice board 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted highway yellow with black lettering in the following form:
WAIRAKEI POWER STATION
MAXIMUM SPEED ALL BOATS
5 M.P.H.
BETWEEN THIS POINT AND A POINT MARKED BY A NOTICE BOARD 250 YARDS DOWNSTREAM FROM THE POWER STATION.
- (a) In a prominent position on the western bank of the Waikato River† approximately 100 yd downstream from the Huka Falls there shall be placed a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted bright orange with black lettering in the following form:
NOTICE
“Motor Launch (Lake Aratiatia and Waikato River) Notice 1971. Regulation 11 (c) of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 does not apply to approved jet boats operating during the hours of daylight between this point and a point marked by a notice board immediately upstream from the Aratiatia Dam.”
(b) In a prominent position on the eastern bank of Lake Aratiatia‡ upstream from the Aratiatia Dam there shall be placed a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted bright orange with black lettering in the following form:
NOTICE
“The Motor Launch (Lake Aratiatia and Waikato River) Notice 1971. Regulation 11 (c) of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 does not apply to approved jet boats operating during the hours of daylight between this point and a point marked by a notice board approximately 100 yd downstream from the Huka Falls.”

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities
PURSUANT to section 3 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 (as amended by section 3 (1) of the Local Authorities Loans Amendment Act 1967), the undersigned Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
