Allocating Land Acquired for the N.I.M.T. Railway at Kakahi
to the Purposes of Road

A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I,
Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of
New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication
hereof in the Gazette, become road and that the said road
shall be under the control of the Taumarunui County Council
and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner
as other public highways are controlled and maintained by
the said Council.

Pest Destruction District (Notice No. 7 Ag. 20891)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 26th day
of April 1971

The Right Hon. J. R. MARSHALL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the
following order.

ORD E R

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Union of Tinui and
    Wairarapa Pest Destruction Districts Order 1971.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the
    date of its notification in the Gazette.

  2. The Tinui Pest Destruction District and the Wairarapa
    Pest Destruction District, the boundaries of each of which are
    specified in the Schedule hereto, are hereby declared united to
    form one district having the name Wairarapa Pest Destruction
    District, the boundaries of which shall be an amalgamation

of those specified in the Schedule hereto; and it is hereby
further declared that the basis on which the board for the
said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage
of the land occupied by the ratepayer.

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land
described in the Schedule hereto, the land being no longer
required for the purpose for which it was acquired.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
All that piece of land containing 1 acre situated in Block XV,
Orahiri Survey District, being part Te Kumi No. 3 Block. All
certificate of title, Volume 291, folio 246, South Auckland Land
Registry.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 33036 (S.O. 16484) deposited in the office of
the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Taieri River Trustβ€”Appointment of Commissioner

Whereas by a warrant dated 27 February 1961 and published
in Gazette, 2 March 1961, Vol. I, p. 362, John Findlay Henderson, District Commissioner of Works, Ministry of Works,
Dunedin, was appointed a commissioner of the Taieri River
Trust in terms of section 3 of the Taieri River Improvement
Act 1920:
And whereas the said John Findlay Henderson has now
resigned and it is considered expedient to appoint another
commissioner in lieu of the said John Findlay Henderson:
Now therefore, the Minister of Works, pursuant to section
3 of the Taieri River Improvement Act 1920, hereby cancels
the appointment of the said John Findlay Henderson to be
a commissioner of the Taieri River Trust, and hereby appoints
Geoffrey Peter Keller, District Commissioner of Works,
Ministry of Works, Dunedin, to be a commissioner of the
Taieri River Trust.

As witness my hand at Wellington, this 7th day of April
1971.
