Plenty, and Wairarapa. For the next 3 days an anticyclone was
dented to the east of the South Island, while a trough of low
pressure advanced slowly eastward across the South Tasman Sea.
The weather was settled over most of the country, but freshening
northerlies brought some rain to Fiordland and South
Westland.

From the 19th to the 23rd the trough of low pressure moved
slowly northward over the country accompanied by scattered
rain, which was mainly light, except on the West Coast and parts
of Taupo and Bay of Plenty. During the next 2 days an anticyclone
was centred east of the South Island and the weather was generally
fine.

From the 26th to the 28th a trough of low pressure was
stationary over Southland bringing rain there, and also light falls
on both coasts of the South Island further north. This trough of
low pressure finally crossed the rest of the country during the
last 3 days of the month, accompanied by scattered rain,
mainly light.
