  1. This consent confers no rights to water under the Water
    and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

  2. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum
    payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating
    capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 8 kW.

REVOCATION

This consent is issued in place of a licence issued to Andrew
Halbertson Paterson, of “Akaroa”, Havelock, sheepfarmer, by
an Order in Council dated the 15th day of December 1953, and
appearing in the Gazette on the 7th day of January 1954 at
p. 14, as amended by an Order in Council dated the 1st day
of December 1965, and appearing in the Gazette on the 9th
day of the same month, at p. 2150, which licence is con-
sequently revoked.

SCHEDULE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
(a) Head works consisting of a dam and intake situated in
Section 1, Block IX, Gore Survey District.
(b) Pipeline leading to the powerhouse giving a static head
of approximately 245 ft.
(c) Pelton wheel and powerhouse situated in Section 1,
Block IX, Gore Survey District.
(d) Tail race from the powerhouse to the sea.

As shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 816 deposited in
the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at
Wellington.

The Traffic (Ellesmere County) Notice No. 1, 1971

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Trans-
port hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Ellesmere
    County) Notice No.1, 1971.

  2. The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby
    declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the
    purposes of Regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is
    hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes
    of Regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

The notices dated the 5th day of February 1959†, which
relate to Ellesmere County at Doyleston are hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Ellesmere County, at Doyleston:
Leeston-Christchurch road (from a point 10 chains
measured south-westerly generally along the Leeston-
Christchurch road from Drain Road to a point 18 chains
measured north-easterly generally along the Leeston-
Christchurch road from Petticoat Lane).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Ellesmere County, at Doyleston:
Drain Road (from the Leeston-Christchurch road to a
point 48 chains measured north-westerly generally along Drain
Road from the Leeston-Christchurch road).

Alteration to the Scale of Charges Upon the New Zealand
Government Railways

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES

WHEREAS in the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette of
the 5th day of November 1970 and published on the 9th
day of November 1970, and in the Supplement to the New
Zealand Gazette of the 26th day of November 1970 and
published on the 27th day of November 1970, the Minister
of Railways made certain alterations to the General Scale of
Charges described in the said Supplements and made pursuant
to the Government Railways Act 1949, and provided that the
said alterations should come into force on the dates shown in
the said Supplements. Now, therefore, the Minister of Rail-
ways pursuant to the Government Railways Act 1949, hereby
alters the dates on which the said alterations shall come into
force and hereby declares that the said alterations shall come
into force on the day set out hereunder.

Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work at Toko and
Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the
Schedule hereto to be Crown land, subject to the Land Act
1948, as from the 18th day of January 1971.
