Adding Land to Abel Tasman National Park

At the Government House at Wellington this 2nd day of November 1970

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, as from the date hereof, be added to and form part of Abel Tasman National Park, and shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with by the Abel Tasman National Park Board in accordance with the provisions of the said Act.

Appointing a Member of the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority

Warrant Vesting Control of the Ballance Bridge, Manawatu Gorge, in the Pahiatua County Council and Apportioning Costs of Repairs and Maintenance Thereof

PURSUANT to section 136 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby vest in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Pahiatua, the care, control, and management of the Ballance Bridge, Manawatu Gorge, and fix and determine that two-thirds of the cost of repairing and maintaining the said bridge shall be provided and paid for by the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Pahiatua, and that one-third of the cost of repairing and maintaining the said bridge shall be provided and paid by the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Woodville; and I further direct that the contribution hereby required to be made by the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Woodville shall be paid to the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Pahiatua 1 month after written demand therefor has been made by the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Pahiatua.

Appointment of High Commissioner for New Zealand in Fiji

HIS Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased to appoint

to be High Commissioner for New Zealand in Fiji under and for the purposes of the External Affairs Act 1943, to hold the said office as from the 10th day of October 1970 until the 9th day of October 1973.
