RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
New Plymouth City Council hereby resolves:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
the Streets Redemption Loan 1970 of forty thousand dollars
($40,000), authorised to be raised by the New Plymouth City
Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of
repaying the balance of the Street Improvements Loan 1958,
$400,000 Fourth Issue of $100,000 amounting to $40,000,
which will remain unpaid at the date of maturity, i.e., 20
October 1970, the New Plymouth City Council hereby makes
a special rate of nought decimal nought one seven cents
(0.017c) in the dollar ($) upon the rateable value (on the
basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the
whole of the City of New Plymouth, and that the special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
the loan, and be payable by equal aggregate annual or half-
yearly instalments on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of
October in each and every year during the currency of the
loan, being a period of 10 years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the New
Plymouth City Council held on the 19th day of October 1970.

Pensioner Housing Loan 1969, $16,400

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Greytown Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purposes of providing the annual charges
on a loan of sixteen thousand four hundred dollars ($16,400)
authorised to be raised by the Greytown Borough Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing
land and erecting accommodation for old people, the said
Greytown Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of
decimal one four one cents (0.141c) in the dollar upon the
rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of
Greytown comprising the whole of the Borough of Greytown,
and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate and
be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 35
years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy
of a resolution passed by the Greytown Borough Council,
on Monday, 15 December 1969.

Levels County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of $38,500 authorised to be raised by the Levels County
Council under the Local Authorities Loans Act, for the con-
struction of a bridge across the Opihi River at Pleasant Point,
the said Levels County Council hereby makes a special rate of
0.01148 of a cent in the dollar upon the rateable capital value
of all rateable property of the County of Levels, and that the
said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly in each and
every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period
of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed by the Geraldine
County Council at a duly constituted meeting of the said
Council held on the 7th day of September 1970.

NOTICE OF A PRIVATE BILL

THE EDEN PARK TRUST AMENDMENT ACT 1970
———

IN THE MATTER of the Standing Orders of the House of
Representatives relating to Private Bills, and IN THE MATTER
of a Private Bill intituled “The Eden Park Trust Amendment
Act 1970”:

NOTICE is hereby given that the Eden Park Trust Board, a
body duly incorporated under the Eden Park Trust Act 1955,
intends to present a petition to the House of Representatives
in Parliament assembled for the passing of the above-
mentioned Bill.

The object of the Bill is to redefine the term “trust property”
so as to include property both real and personal acquired by
the Trust Board since the passing of the Eden Park Trust Act
1955, and any property both real and personal which the Trust
Board may acquire in the future; to give such redefinition
retrospective effect; and to extend the power of the Board
of Control to borrow moneys on bank overdraft.

The promoter of the Bill is the Eden Park Trust Board,
whose address for service of notices and communications is at
the offices of its duly appointed solicitors, Messrs Anderson,
Snedden and Bradford, First Floor, Yorkshire House, Shortland
Street, Auckland, where a copy of the Bill may be inspected.

Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private
Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on or before
the 20th day of October 1970.
