PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby:

(a) Declares the pieces of road described in the Schedule hereto to be a Government road, and
(b) Stops the said road.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall on and after the date of this Order in Council, become county road.


SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that portion of road situated in Block VIII, Waitemata Survey District being a triangular portion of road adjoining the western boundary of Allotment 547, Takapuna Parish, and containing an area of approximately 2 perches; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 24454 (S.O. 46538) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red and marked β€œA”.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 7th day of September 1970

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the public highway described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a motorway.


SCHEDULE

ALL that portion of public highway in the City of Wellington commencing at a point on the Ngauranga-Basin Reserve Motorway (Ngauranga-Aotea Quay section) 2 miles 20 chains south of its junction with the No. 2 Pokeno-Wellington State Highway in Block XI, Belmont Survey District (being the point of commencement) and proceeding thence in a south-westerly direction generally for a distance of 70 chains and including the Aotea Quay off-ramp, crossing Aotea Quay, Thorndon Quay and the intervening railway yards by means of an over-pass and passing under the Hobson Street and Molesworth Street overbridges and terminating at a point 3 miles 10 chains south of the point of commencement and extending to its junction with Molesworth Street adjacent to May Street; as the same is more particularly shown edged red on the plan marked M.O.W. 24413, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Appointing the Deputy Transport Licensing Appeal Authority and the Deputy Transport Charges Appeal Authority

PURSUANT to section 158 of the Transport Act 1962, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby appoints

Frederic McCarthy, of Auckland

to be the Deputy Transport Licensing Appeal Authority and the Deputy Transport Charges Appeal Authority.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 1st day of September 1970.

Promotions and Termination of Appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy


His Excellency the Governor-General has, pursuant to the Navy Act, 1954, been pleased to approve the following promotions, and terminations of appointments, in the Royal New Zealand Navy:

Commander P. L. Bardwell, O.B.E., to be released (age), to date 15 December 1970, and placed on the Retired List, to date 16 December 1970.

Commander J. I. Quinn, engagement extended to 27 December 1970.

Lieutenant Commander C. G. McLean, M.B.E., D.S.M., to be released (engagement expired), to date 22 October 1970, and placed on the Emergency List, to date 23 October 1970.
