The Standards Act 1965โ€”Draft Amendments to New Zealand
Standard Specifications

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards
Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft
amendments are being circulated:

Number and Description of Draft
D 162 Draft amendment to NZS 1693:1962, Deformed steel
bars of Structural Grade for reinforced concrete.
D 163 Draft amendment to NZS 1879:1964, Hot-rolled
deformed bars of HY 60 grade (high yield 60,000
psi) for reinforced concrete.
NOTEโ€”When issued, these amendments will
raise the maximum permissible bar diameter from
the present value of 1.375 in. to 1.50 in.

All persons who may be affected by these amendments and
who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain
copies on loan from the Standards Association of New
Zealand, New Zealand Display Centre Building, Sturdee
Street (or Private Bag), Wellington 1.
The closing date for receipt of comment is 25 September
1970.

Notice of Intention to Assign Place Names by the New Zealand
Geographic Board

PURSUANT to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board
Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the New
Zealand Geographic Board to assign the names set out in the
first column of the Schedule hereto.
Pursuant to section 13 of the said Act, any person objecting
to any such proposed name may, at any time within the
period of 3 months from the date of publication of this notice
in the Gazette, give to the Secretary of the Board, care of the
Department of Lands and Survey, P.O. Box 8003, Government
Buildings, Wellington, notice in writing of his objection, setting
out the grounds of the objection. Plans showing the location
of the features may be inspected at the office of the Chief
Surveyor for the department, or at the office of the Secretary
of the Board.
If no objection is received by the Board within the aforesaid
period of 3 months, the Board's decision as to any of the said
proposed names will be final.

Wharewaka The township situated on the eastern
shore of Lake Taupo, approxim-
ately 2 miles south of Taupo
Borough. Instead of "Tauhara".
