  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Police Salary Order (No. 2) 1970.
    (2) This order shall be deemed to have come into force on the 15th day of January 1970.

  2. Salary of Commissioner of Police—The salary of the Commissioner of Police shall be as follows:

$10,809 $11,330 $521

  1. Revocation—The Police Salary Order 1970* is hereby revoked.

Exempting Certain Maori Land from Rates

At the Government House at Wellington this 24th day of August 1970

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 149 of the Rating Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby exempts the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto from payment of all rates made or levied by any local authority under the provisions of the Rating Act 1967.

Defining Limits of Waverley Harbour

At the Government House at Wellington this 17th day of August 1970

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby defines the harbour of Waverley as being all that area of water bounded by the line of mean high-water spring tides and having as its seaward limit the arc of a circle of 2 nautical miles radius centred at 39° 49.63′ S, 174° 36.56′ E near the mouth of the Wairoa Stream.

Authorising the Otago Harbour Board to Reclaim Land in Otago Harbour

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 175 (3) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Otago Harbour Board to reclaim from the sea in Otago Harbour an area of 1 rood 20.7 perches more or less, of endowment land as shown edged pink on plan M.D. 13875 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

PURSUANT to the Gaming Amendment Act 1962, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby appoints Eric Alderson Missen, Esq., of Wellington to be a member of the Distribution Committee for the provision of Social Amenities and the Promotion of Social Welfare, in lieu of Dr John Lochiel Robson, C.B.E., resigned, to hold office for the residue of the term for which the said John Lochiel Robson was appointed.

Denniston Urban Fire District Abolished

PURSUANT to section 21 of the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. On 27 August 1970 the Denniston Urban Fire District shall cease to exist.

  2. The provisions of section 75 of the Fire Services Act 1949 shall apply as if reference to Council in that section were reference to the Buller County Council.
