Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the Ashburton County Council stopping the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto.

ALL those pieces of road situated in the Wakanui Survey District, Canterbury R.D., described as follows:

ALL that piece of road containing 4 acres 1 rood 17.7 perches situated in Block LXXXIII, Clutha Survey District, Otago R.D., adjoining or passing through part Sections 2 and 4, Section 14 and Lot 2 and part Lot 9, Deeds Plan 212, being part Section 6; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 24307 (S.O. 16942) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be under the control and management of the Alexandra Borough Council.

PURSUANT to section 16 of the New Zealand Army Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army:

PROVOST MARSHAL

The appointment of Provost Marshal of the New Zealand Army and Head of Corps, Royal N.Z. Provost Corps, previously vested in the appointment of Deputy Adjutant-General, Army Headquarters (Colonel L. W. Wright, M.B.E.), is now vested in the appointment of Chief of Staff, Central Military District/Home Command, currently held by Lieutenant-Colonel J. O’B. Horsford, RNZA. Dated 1 June 1970.

DIRECTOR OF SURVEY

Territorial Force

Honorary Colonel Robert Philip Gough, M.S.I.N.Z., relinquishes the appointment of Director of Survey, Defence Headquarters, and is posted to the Retired List. Dated 3 July 1970.

William Seaton Boyes, M.N.Z.I.S., to be Honorary Colonel and is appointed Director of Survey, Defence Headquarters. Dated 3 July 1970.
