Land Proclaimed as Road, Land Taken and Vested, and Road Closed and Vested in Blocks I and XII, Benmore Survey District

PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, the Minister of Works hereby proclaims as road the land described in the First Schedule hereto; also hereby takes the land described in the Second Schedule hereto for the purposes of subsection (6) of the said section 29; also hereby proclaims as closed the road described in the Third Schedule hereto and declares that the road first and secondly described in the said Third Schedule, when so closed, shall vest in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waitaki, in trust, for plantation purposes; and also hereby declares that the land described in the said Second Schedule hereto and the road thirdly to seventhly described in the said Third Schedule hereto, when so closed, shall vest in the University of Otago, in trust, as an endowment for the said university, subject to the lease recorded in the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin, as special lease S. 216, held by James Walter Gloag, of Omarama, sheep farmer, and recorded in register book, Volume 386, folio 135, Otago Land Registry.
