PURSUANT to section 175 (3) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Northland Harbour Board to reclaim from the Hatea River an area of 1 rood 30 perches, more or less; as shown on plan 13748 deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

Authorising the Timaru Harbour Board to Reclaim Endowment Foreshore in the Timaru Harbour

PURSUANT to section 175 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Timaru Harbour Board to reclaim from the Timaru Harbour an area of 2 acres, more or less; as shown, edged green, on plan M.D. 13791 deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

Merger of the Electric Supply Districts of the South Canterbury Electric Power Board and the Mackenzie County Council

PURSUANT to the Electricity Distribution Commission Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- MERGER OF DISTRICT
THE licensed area of supply of the Mackenzie County Council, as defined in the Mackenzie County Council Electric Lines Licence dated 25 January 1955 and published in the Gazette on 3 February 1955, at p. 105, is hereby included and merged in the South Canterbury Electric Power District. For the purposes of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, this merger shall be deemed to have been effected under that Act.
- BOUNDARIES
THE boundaries of the South Canterbury Electric Power District are hereby altered so as to include therein the outer areas described in the Proclamation of 18 April 1967, published in the Gazette on 27 April 1967, at p. 773.
- RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF SUPPLY AUTHORITY
PURSUANT to section 34 of the Electricity Distribution Commission Act 1967, the South Canterbury Electric Power Board shall exercise all rights and undertake all obligations previously exercised by the Mackenzie County Council in carrying on its electricity undertaking.
- REPRESENTATION
As from the date of merger and until the next triennial local body election, the South Canterbury Electric Power Board shall be reconstituted to allow for the inclusion of an additional member representing that part of Mackenzie County formerly supplied by the Mackenzie County Council's electricity undertaking. The Order in Council apportioning representation on the South Canterbury Electric Power Board, dated 17 November 1922 and published in the Gazette on 23 November 1922, as amended by an Order in Council dated 21 March 1955 and published in the Gazette on 31 March 1955, at p. 589, is hereby amended to give the Board an interim membership of 13. as specified in the following schedule:

The constituent districts of the South Canterbury Electric Power Board which are bracketed together in the first column of the above Schedule shall form a combined district. The letter "(P)" denotes the principal local authority in each combined district.
The first representative of that part of Mackenzie County Council's electricity undertaking shall be appointed by the Mackenzie County Council and shall hold office until the next triennial local body election. Thereafter, pursuant to section 10 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, the number of representatives of each constituent district shall be determined by the Governor-General by Order in Council, and the number of members on the South Canterbury Electric Power Board shall revert to 12.
- PURCHASE PRICE
THE South Canterbury Electric Power Board shall pay to the Mackenzie County Council the sum of $55,000 for the purchase of the Council's electricity undertaking, property and assets. Payment is to be made over a period of 2 years, as stipulated in the agreement made between the Board and the Council.
- DISPOSITION OF ASSETS AND LIABILITIES
As from the date of merger, the South Canterbury Electric Power Board shall take over and become the absolute owner of all assets of whatsoever description forming part of the undertaking of the Mackenzie County Council. The Board shall also assume responsibility and liability for all loans, sundry creditors, and other liabilities applicable to the electricity undertaking of the County Council at the date of merger.
- TARIFFS
As from the date of merger, the Board's tariff and conditions of supply shall apply to all consumers previously supplied by Mackenzie County, provided that until metering alterations are carried out to farm installations, such consumers shall pay at the Board's domestic rate. The Board, with all due diligence, shall carry out at its own expense all such work as is necessary to implement farm metering, and thereafter such consumers shall pay the Board's farm tariff in respect of farm installations.
- STAFF
THE South Canterbury Electric Power Board shall continue to employ, as required by the Local Authorities (Employment Protection) Act 1963, the two persons employed on the staff of the Mackenzie County Council's electricity undertaking.
- PRIVATE GENERATING PLANTS
THE South Canterbury Electric Power Board shall in future support the renewal of all licences in force at the date of the merger in respect of private electrical plants located in that part of Mackenzie County formerly supplied by the County Council's electricity undertaking.
- DATE OF MERGER
The merger shall come into force on 1 April 1970.
