Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 5) 1970

Pursuant to regulation 16 of the Import Control Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 5) 1970.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on 1 July 1970.
  2. Goods of the classes specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff items in the First Schedule hereto, and goods of the classes specified in the Second Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirements of a licence under the said regulations.

FIRST SCHEDULE

EXEMPTIONS CREATED

Classes of Goods

Other live plants, including trees, shrubs, bushes, roots, cuttings and slips
Cod liver oil in containers of a capacity in excess of 1 gal
Preserved fish, crustaceans and molluscs:
Preserved:
In airtight containers such as cans, jars and the like:
Salmon.
Crustaceans and molluscs
Otherwise packed
Caviar and caviar substitutes
Preparations of crustaceans and molluscs such as sausages, "prepared meals" and the like (other than pastes)
Sensitised paper, paperboard or cloth, unexposed or exposed but not developed (excluding dyline, diazo and blueprint paper, paperboard or cloth)
Sensitised plates and film, exposed but not developed, negative or positive.
Activated clay, activated bauxite and other activated natural mineral products (excluding activated carbon and activated diatomite)
Prepared rubber accelerators
Ink removers put up in packings for sale by retail
Weatherseal (other than wholly of rubber)
Condensation, polycondensation and polyaddition products, viz: polyethylene terephthalate film
Polymerisation and copolymerisation products in the form of liquids, pastes, solutions and emulsions, viz: P.C.R.2 on declaration for use in the manufacture of rubber goods
Polymerisation and copolymerisation products, viz; polypropylene glass cloth laminate; polycarbonate sheet; acetal sheet
Regenerated cellulose; cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate and other cellulose esters, cellulose ethers and other chemical derivatives of cellulose; chemical derivatives of natural rubber:
In powder, granules, flakes, blocks, lumps and similar bulk forms
Hardened proteins, in blocks, lumps and similar bulk forms
Transmission, conveyor or elevator belts or belting, of vulcanised rubber, viz: Vee belts
Interchangeable tyre treads
Erasers, date and other stamp type, paste applicators and other articles of stationery of unhardened vulcanised rubber (excluding rubber bands)
Casks and barrels, unassembled, suited for packing meat products, whether or not including hoops, viz: hard fir casks only
Articles of paper pulp, paper, paperboard or cellulose wadding, viz: recording dials and sheets and rolls for self-recording apparatus
Nylon monofilament sewing thread
Chenille yarn; gimped yarn, viz: piping on declaration for use in the manufacture of rubber goods
Cotton flock on declaration for use in the manufacture of rubber goods.
Textile fabrics coated with gum or amylaceous substances, of a kind used for the outer covers of books
Fabricated asbestos and articles thereof, reinforced or not, other than goods falling within Tariff heading No. 68.14; mixtures with a basis of asbestos and mixtures with a basis of asbestos and magnesium carbonate, and articles of such mixtures (excluding millboard and asbestos fabrics, clothing and footwear)
Cast, rolled, drawn or blown glass, in rectangles, not further worked than surface ground or polished (other than unworked drawn or blown clear glass sheets of 16/32 oz, 3/16 in., 7/32 in., ΒΌ in.)
Iron and steel wire, coated, but not insulated, viz: bead wire on declaration for use in tyre manufacture.
Wire of alloy and high carbon steel, viz: bronze coated alloy steel wire on declaration for use in tyre manufacture
Scaffolding fittings of metal
Other articles of iron or steel, viz: bead nipples on declaration for use in tyre manufacture
Metatarsal pads.
Other articles of aluminium, viz: metal neck bands on declaration for use in the manufacture of hot water bottles
