Revocation of Appointment of Officers Authorised to Take and
Receive Statutory Declarations
PURSUANT to section 9 of the Oaths and Declarations Act
1957, His Excellency the Governor-General has revoked the
appointments of the holders for the time being of the offices
in the service of the Crown specified in the Schedule below
to take and receive statutory declarations under the said Act.

The Auckland Technical Institutes Notice 1970
PURSUANT to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the
Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE
- (1) This notice may be cited as the Auckland Technical
Institutes Notice 1970.
(2) This notice shall come into force on the date of its
publication in the Gazette.

There shall be a Board of Governors to be known as the
Council of the Auckland Technical Institutes. -
(1) The Council of the Auckland Technical Institutes shall
be constituted as follows:
(a) One member appointed by the Auckland City Council;
(b) One member appointed by the Manukau City Council;
(c) One member appointed by the Council of the University
of Auckland;
(d) One member appointed by the Auckland Branch of the
New Zealand Institute of Architects;
(e) One member appointed by the Auckland Branch of the
New Zealand Institution of Engineers;
(f) One member appointed by the Auckland Branch of the
New Zealand Society of Accountants;
(g) Three members appointed by the associations of employ-
ers in local industries;
(h) Three members appointed by the associations of
employees in local industries;
(i) Four members to be co-opted by the Council itself, if and
when it thinks fit.
(2) The Superintendent of Education, Auckland, or his
deputy, shall be an associate member of the Council, entitled
to be present at any meeting of the Council or of any
committee of the Council, and to speak at the meeting; but he
shall not be entitled to vote at any such meeting.

The Council of the Auckland Technical Institutes shall
control the Auckland Technical Institute. -
The Council of the Auckland Technical Institutes shall,
for the time being, also control the Manukau Technical
Institute. -
(1) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the members
of the Council of the Auckland Technical Institutes shall hold
office for a term of 3 years, but may from time to time be
reappointed.
(2) Every co-opted member of the Council shall be appointed
for such term, not exceeding 3 years, as the Council thinks fit.
(3) The members of the Board of Governors of the
Auckland Technical Institute who were in office immediately
before the commencement of this notice shall continue in office
for the remainder of the term for which they were appointed
and shall be deemed to have been appointed under this notice.
(4) Except in the case of a casual vacancy or as otherwise
provided in this clause, every member shall hold office until the
31st day of July in the third year after his appointment, and
if on the 31st day of July the appointment of his successor
has not been notified to the Council, he shall continue to hold
office until the date on which that appointment is notified.
(5) The first term of office of the member to be appointed
by the Manukau City Council shall expire on the 31st day of
July 1973.
(6) If any member dies, or resigns his office by writing under
his hand addressed to the Council or the chairman or the
secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from the meetings
of the Council for 3 consecutive months, or while holding
office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member,
the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as
practicable thereafter by the appointment of a member in the
manner in which the vacating member was appointed, and the
member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the
residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.
(7) The powers of the Council shall not be affected by any
vacancy in the membership thereof.
- This notice is in substitution for the Auckland Technical
Institute Board of Managers Order 1964*.

Declaring Land Taken for State Housing Purposes in the
Borough of Motueka
PURSUANT to section 32 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares that, a sufficient agreement
to that effect having been entered into, the land described in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken, subject to building-line
restriction in document No. 88398, Nelson Land Registry, and
subject as to the part coloured yellow on D.P. 6555 to a
drainage easement in gross in favour of the Mayor, Council-
lors, and Citizens of the Borough of Motueka, created by
transfer 89966 (subject to section 351E, Municipal Corporations
Act 1954), for State housing purposes from and after the
23rd day of March 1970.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 34.7 perches situated in the
Borough of Motueka, Nelson R.D., and being Lot 44, D.P.
6555. All certificate of title No. 2B/95, Nelson Land Registry.

Declaring Land Taken, Subject to a Fencing Agreement, for
Maori Housing Purposes in Block IX, Whakatane Survey
District, Whakatane County
PURSUANT to section 32 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares that, a sufficient agreement
to that effect having been entered into, the land described in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken, subject to the fencing
agreement contained in transfer S. 62133, South Auckland
Land Registry, for Maori housing purposes from and after
the 23rd day of March 1970.
