WESTLAND CATCHMENT BOARD

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL

PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the Nine Mile Drainage Scheme Special Rating District, taken on the 18th day of February 1970, on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of $6,490, to be known as Nine Mile Drainage Scheme Loan 1969, for the purpose of providing the ratepayers’ share of the cost of Nine Mile drainage scheme at Nine Mile, Westport, proposed to be undertaken by Westland Catchment Board, resulted as follows:

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 19
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 11
The number of informal votes was nil

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

MINING ACT 1926

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR WATER RACE

ROBERT Andrew William Elliot, of Paerau, farmer, and Alma Elliot, his wife, and Norman William Allan and Ian Hamilton Williams, both of Dunedin, solicitors, give notice that they have applied to the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Cromwell, for a water race to divert 4 heads of water from the Taieri River. The race commences in the Taieri River, opposite an unformed road in Run 254c, runs in a south-easterly direction 450 yds by means of pipes, across the Upper Taieri Paerau Road, and then runs in a north-easterly direction some 90 chains to Run 254b, where it terminates. The application will be heard at the Wardens Court, Cromwell, at 10 a.m. on the 14th day of April 1970. Objections must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified to the applicants at least 3 days before the time so appointed.

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR WATER RACE

CHARLES Edward Hore, of Patearoa, farmer, Isabel Donnella Thomas Hore, of Patearoa, his wife, Robert John Knowles, of Dunedin, public accountant, and Robert Ian Beattie, of Patearoa, farmer, give notice that they have applied to the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Cromwell, for a water race to direct 4 heads of water from the Taieri River. The race commences in the Taieri River, 1 chain west of the north-eastern corner of Run 308E, and runs in pipes from a pump house on the river bank reserve in a south-westerly direction along the western side of, and parallel to, the Patearoa-Paerau Road to the Linburn Road; thence in that direction for 5 chains to the commencement of the race; thence southerly; and thence north-west through the applicants’ leasehold land to the boundary of Runs 308p and Run 308c, where it terminates. The application will be heard at the Wardens Court, Cromwell, at 10 a.m. on the 14th day of April 1970. Objections must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified to the applicants at least 3 days before the time so appointed.

ADVERTISEMENT OF CANCELLING

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 19th day of February 1970, cancelled the registry of Loyal Lumsden Lodge No. 6540 of the Southland District of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Odd Fellows (New Zealand) Friendly Society, Register No. 312(15)/3, held at Lumsden, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.
