Declaring Land Taken for a Government Centre in the City of
Lower Hutt

PURSUANT to section 32 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares that, a sufficient agreement
to that effect having been entered into, the land described in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a Government centre
from and after the 19th day of January 1970.

Quarry Declared a Construction Work

PURSUANT to the Construction Act 1959, the Minister of
Labour, acting with the concurrence of the Minister of Mines,
hereby gives notice that any quarry within the meaning of the
Quarries Act 1944 and any work to be or being carried out in
any such quarry situated on the construction site of the Homer
Tunnel, as shown on plan P.W.D. 88797 deposited in the office
of the Chief Civil Engineer of the Ministry of Works in
Wellington, is declared to be a construction work under the
Construction Act 1959.

Further Extending the Duration of Licences Authorising the
Bay of Plenty Electric Power Board to Use Electric Lines
within the Bay of Plenty Electric Power District and Outer
Area of Such District

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of
Electricity hereby amends the Bay of Plenty Electric Power
Board Electric Lines Licence 1959, as granted and amended
by the Orders in Council specified in the Schedule hereto,
and as further amended by a notice under the Electricity Act
1968, dated 18 June 1969 (Gazette, 26 June 1969, p. 1163),
by extending the duration of the said licence until the 31st day
of July 1970.

The Post Office Bonus Bonds Interest Notice 1970
Pursuant to subsection 12 of section 129A of the Post Office
Act 1959, the Minister of Finance hereby gives the following
notice.

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Post Office Bonus
    Bonds Interest Notice 1970.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on the 5th day of
    March 1970.
  2. Interest at the rate of 4 percent per annum shall, in the
    case of each Post Office bonus bond purchased, be computed
    commencing as at the first day of the next calendar month
    following that in which it is purchased and, in the case of
    each Post Office bonus bond redeemed, shall cease as at mid-
    night on the last day of the calendar month prior to the month
    in which it is repaid.
  3. The interest shall be accumulated in a prize fund from
    which cash prizes shall be distributed by ballot in accordance
    with subsection 13 of section 129A of the Post Office Act 1959.

The Traffic (Bay of Islands County) Notice No. 1, 1970

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport
hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Bay of Islands
    County) Notice No. 1, 1970.
  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby
    declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of
    section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
  3. The notice under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and
    regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 30th
    day of March 1960†, which relates to the Bay of Islands
    County, at Paihia, is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Bay of Islands County, at Paihia:
Blackbridge-Paihia Road (from a point 6 chains measured
south-westerly generally along the said road from Back Road
to the Kawakawa-Opua-Paihia Road).
Kawakawa-Opua-Paihia Road (from a point 18 chains
