The Traffic (60-miles-an-hour) Notice No. 9, 1969

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (60-miles-an-hour) Notice No. 9, 1969.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 60-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27B of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Eyre and Rangiora Counties:

Tram Road (from Eyre Road North to Giles Road).

Eyre Road South (from the western boundary of Eyre County to the Cust-Eyre Road).

The Traffic (Invercargill City) Notice No. 2, 1969

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Invercargill City) Notice No. 2, 1969.

  2. The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Invercargill City:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from Nith Street to the southern boundary of Invercargill City).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Invercargill City:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from Nith Street to Kew Road).

The Traffic (60-miles-an-hour) Notice No. 7, 1969

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (60-miles-an-hour) Notice No. 7, 1969.

  2. All the State highways described in the Schedule hereto, but excluding any road or area subject to a 30 mph, a 40 mph, or a limited speed zone restriction, are hereby declared to be 60-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27B of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

SCHEDULE

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff):

The section within Cheviot County (from the Jed River bridge to a point 1 mile measured easterly generally along the said State highway from the northern end of the Hurunui Bridge).

The section within Ashley County (from a point 20 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from the southern end of the Waipara Bridge to a point 16 chains measured northerly generally along the said State highway from the northern end of the bridge over the Saltwater Creek).

The section within Paparua and Ellesmere Counties: (from a point 15 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from Trents Road at Templeton to the southern end of the bridge over the Rakaia River).

No. 7 State Highway (Waipara-Greymouth via Lewis Pass):

The section within Amuri County (from the eastern end of the bridge over Stinking Stream to the northern end of the bridge over the Hurunui River).

The section within Waipara County (from a point 40 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said State highway from Antills Bridge to a point 40 chains measured northerly generally along the said State highway from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff)).

No. 70 State Highway (Kaikoura-Culverden):

The sections within Amuri County (from the western end of the Waiau Bridge to a point 1 mile measured northerly generally along the said State highway from Mount Palm Road at Rotherham); (from a point 48 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from Mount Palm Road to the No. 7 State Highway (Waipara-Greymouth via Lewis Pass)).

No. 72 State Highway (Woodend-Winchester):

The sections within Rangiora, Oxford, and Malvern Counties (from a point 2 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said State highway from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 5 chains measured easterly generally along the No. 72 State Highway (Woodend-Winchester) from High Street, Oxford); (from the southern end of the Eyre River bridge to a point 16 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said State highway from Harmans Gorge Road); (from the No. 73 State Highway (Christchurch-Kumara) to a point 3 chains measured easterly generally along the No. 72 State Highway (Woodend-Winchester) from Victoria Street at Glentunnel); (from a point 8 chains measured south-westerly generally along the State highway from the southern end of the Hororata Bridge to a point 16 chains measured westerly generally along the said State highway from Lake Coleridge Road, at Windwhistle).

No. 73 State Highway (Christchurch-Kumara):

The sections within Malvern and Paparua Counties (from a point 10 chains measured westerly generally along the said State highway from Buchanans Road near Yaldhurst to a point 1 mile measured south-easterly generally along the said State highway from the Kowai River bridge No. 2); (from the northern end of Manson’s Bridge at Flock Hill to a point 32 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from the Cass River bridge).

Notice of Application Received for an International Air Service Licence

PURSUANT to section 7 of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, notice is hereby given that American Airlines Incorporated has applied for an international air service licence, giving authority to carry on a twice-weekly international air service between the United States of America and New Zealand. Full details of the proposed routes and schedules may be obtained from the Ministry of Transport, Head Office, Private Bag, Wellington.

Any person or firm desiring to make representations relating to this application must forward those representations to me, in writing (in triplicate), before the 15th day of January 1970.
