SNARES ISLANDS

Mutton Bird Creek On Main Island. Flows east, with outlet in Boat Harbour.
Punui Bay Main Island; on eastern coast, just north of Rocky Islet.
Seal Point Main Island. Headland on eastern coast.
Sinkhole Flat Area in north-eastern part of Main Island.
Sinkhole Gut Coastal inlet in vicinity of "Sinkhole Flat".
Skua Point Main Island. Headland on eastern coast opposite Rocky Islet.
Station Cove Main Island; on eastern coast, lying to the west of "Seal Point".
Station Point Main Island. Coastal point southwest of "Station Cove".

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on the 15th day of August 1968 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign certain place and feature names:

And whereas, pursuant to section 13 of the said Act, objections to two proposed names were considered by the Board and a report submitted to the Minister of Lands thereon:

And, whereas, after considering the Board’s report herein, the Minister of Lands has given his final decisions as set out in the Second Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore pursuant to section 15 of the said Act, notice is hereby given that, on and after the 15th day of February 1969 there shall be assigned the names set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

SECOND SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

Name Situation and Remarks
Glinks Gully Locality in Block V, Kopuru Survey District. At Kopuru Domain, approximately 11 miles south-west of Dargaville. Instead of "Glinkes Gully" shown on current maps.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

Name Situation and Remarks
Twizel Upper Waitaki River basin; new construction township site between Ohau and Twizel Rivers, in Blocks VI and VII, Strachey Survey District.

The Standards Act 1965—New Zealand Standard Specification Reviewed and Proposed for Revocation

NOTICE is hereby given that the New Zealand standards listed in the Schedule hereto have been reviewed by committees of the Standards Council, and have been recommended for revocation.

Any person who may be affected by the proposal to revoke these standard specifications, and who may wish to object to their revocation, is invited to submit comments to the Standards Association of New Zealand, Private Bag, Wellington, not later than 7 March 1969.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as at the close of business on 7 February 1969, and until further notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which, when added to that bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes as disclosed in that bank’s latest available weekly return of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, will be not less than the aggregate of:

17 percent of that bank’s demand deposits in New Zealand
plus
3 percent of that bank’s time deposits in New Zealand
as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 31 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964.
