SPECIAL ORDER
THAT, pursuant to the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Hauraki Plains County Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, to declare the following noxious weed, stated in the First Schedule of the said Act, to be a noxious weed in the County of Hauraki Plains.
Manchurian wild rice (Zizania latifolia).

Insurance Companies’ Deposits Act 1953—Proposed Release of Deposits
ARDEN A. Jennings (Insurance) Ltd. has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on business in New Zealand as agent of Commonwealth underwriters in respect of the class of insurance business designated as Class 4 in the first Schedule to the above-mentioned Act and that it proposes to withdraw the deposit which has been made by it with the Public Trustee, pursuant to section 19 of the above-mentioned Act.
The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 9 (3) of the above-mentioned Act, that, subject to his being satisfied that all liabilities of the said company in New Zealand in respect of insurance business referred to herein have been fully liquidated or provided for, he proposes to release to the company, on or after 31 January 1970, the amount deposited with him by the said company.
Any objections to the release of the amounts deposited should be lodged with the Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before the 31st day of December 1969.

Maori Land Development Notice
WHEREAS by virtue of the notices referred to in the First Schedule hereto the lands described in those notices were declared to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953; and whereas the appellations of those lands have been changed by subsequent order of the Maori Land Court and they are now known by the description set out in the Second Schedule hereto; and whereas it is desired to release those lands from the provisions of the said Part XXIV:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows.

Notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired, under the Forests Act 1949, as permanent State forest land, together with a right of way appurtenant thereto.

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 146—Public Inquiry into Import Duties and Import Licensing Affecting Bonded Fibre Fabrics, Similar Bonded Yarn Fabrics, and Articles of Such Fabrics, Whether or Not Impregnated or Coated (Tariff Heading 59.03)

The Tariff and Development Board has been requested by the Minister of Customs to inquire into and report on what action, if any, is necessary to afford protection to New Zealand manufacturers of bonded fibre fabrics and similar bonded fabrics, whether or not impregnated or coated, falling within Tariff items 59.03.01 or 59.03.02, and articles of such fabrics falling within Tariff item 59.03.09.

This reference originated in a request by a manufacturer for determination of bonded fibre fabrics and similar bonded yarn fabrics under Tariff item 59.03.01, but has been widened to cover the question of the rates of duty and import licensing affecting all the goods of Tariff heading 59.03.

In accordance with its normal procedures, the Board will conduct a public inquiry in the Boardroom, First Floor, Law Society Building, 26 Waring Taylor Street, Wellington, on Thursday 5 March 1970, commencing at 10.30 a.m.
