Special Order Made by Rangitaiki Drainage Board Defining the Boundaries of the Rangitaiki East Subdivision and the Rangitaiki West Subdivision and Fixing Representation

PURSUANT to section 2 of the Land Drainage Amendment Act 1920, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Rangitaiki Drainage Board.

SPECIAL ORDER

“THAT, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 16 of the Land Drainage Act 1908, and section 2 of the Land Drainage Amendment Act 1920, the Rangitaiki Drainage Board hereby resolves, by way of special order, as follows:

1. That the Rangitaiki Subdivision, as defined in New Zealand Gazette, on 14 May 1959, No. 27, at page 623, and in New Zealand Gazette, on 11 October 1956, No. 55, at page 1399, be divided into two subdivisions, to be known as the Rangitaiki East Subdivision and the Rangitaiki West Subdivision, as more particularly described in the schedule hereto:

2. That the representation of these subdivisions be Rangitaiki East, one member, and Rangitaiki West, one member.

SCHEDULE

RANGITAIKI EAST SUBDIVISION

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing on the shore of the Bay of Plenty at a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S. 9501, in Block V, Awa-o-te-atua Survey District, and proceeding southerly to and along that boundary and the western boundaries of part Lot 1, D.P. 28773, and Lot 2, D.P. 10349, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the northern boundary of part Allotment 65, Rangitaiki Parish (D.P. 20909); thence westerly generally along that boundary and the generally northern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 34056, to the easternmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 34056; thence along a right line to and along the eastern boundary of Allotment 7, Rangitaiki Parish, and south-westerly generally along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of that allotment to the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 9, Rangitaiki Parish; thence south-easterly along that boundary to and southerly along the generally western boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 36720, to its southernmost point; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 10936; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 10936, Lot 2, D.P. S. 6395, part Allotment 72, Rangitaiki Parish, and along a right line to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 10333; thence along the north-western boundary of that lot to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 9093; thence south-easterly along that boundary to its easternmost point; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 9093, Lot 1, D.P. 10444, and Lot 6, D.P. S. 31, to and along the north-western side of a public road to the northern side of Edgecumbe-Awakeri Road; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 22567; thence along the north-western boundary of that lot to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 18069; thence north-westerly along that boundary and south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 18069, and part Lot 3, D.P. 18069, to the north-eastern boundary of part Lot 4, D.P. 18069; thence south-easterly along a right line to the southernmost corner of that lot; thence along another right line to the northernmost corner of part Omataroa 2B 2; thence along a right line to and southerly and easterly generally along the western watershed of the Whakatane River to the point where the said watershed meets the boundary of the Rangitaiki Drainage District; thence generally northerly and easterly to the western boundary of the Omataroa Subdivision; thence generally northerly by that boundary to the sea, and westerly by the shore of the Bay of Plenty to the point of commencement.

RANGITAIKI WEST SUBDIVISION

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block V, Awa-o-te-atua Survey District, being the intersection of the left bank of the Rangitaiki River with the line of mean high water along the shores of the Bay of Plenty and running easterly generally along those shores to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S. 9501, in Block V, Awa-o-te-atua Survey District, and proceeding southerly along the western boundary of the Rangitaiki East Subdivision, aforesaid, to the southern boundary of the Rangitaiki Drainage District; thence along the southern boundary to the left bank of the Rangitaiki River; thence northerly along the left bank of the Rangitaiki River to the point of commencement.”

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made, and such special order had been advertised before confirmation.

Crown Land Set Apart for State Housing Purposes in the Borough of Whakatane

PURSUANT to section 25 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be set apart for State housing purposes from and after the 24th day of November 1969.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 8.9 perches situated in Block I, Whakatane Survey District, Borough of Whakatane, being Lot 25, D.P. S. 4214. Formerly part certificate of title, Volume 869, folio 172, South Auckland Land Registry.

PURSUANT to section 25 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be set apart for Maori housing purposes from and after the 24th day of November 1969.

ALL that piece of Crown land containing 1 rood situated in Block I, Paritu Survey District, Gisborne R.D., and being Section 23; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 23509 (S.O. 4839) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured edged red.
