Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at
Licensed Premises-Invercargill Licensing Trust
Pursuant to section 35B of the Invercargill Licensing Trust
Act 1950, as inserted by section 9 of the Licensing Trusts
Amendment Act 1967, I, John Lochiel Robson, Secretary for
Justice, hereby give notice that the Invercargill Licensing Trust,
at a meeting held on 24 July 1969, passed the following
resolution:
"That the necessary steps as required by statute be taken to
amend the trading hours in various establishments as follows:
1.East End Bottle Store, corner Bamborough and Tay Streets:
Monday to Friday inclusive-10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to
7 p.m.
Saturdays and public holidays-10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
2.Mary Street Bottle Store, corner Mary and Yarrow Streets:
Monday to Friday inclusive-10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to
7 p.m.
Saturdays and public holidays-10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
3.Rugby Park Bottle Store, Elles Road:
Monday to Thursday inclusive-11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
to 7 p.m.
Fridays, Saturdays, and public holidays except Easter
Monday, Queen's Birthday, and Labour Day-11 a.m. to
10 p.m.
Easter Monday, Queen's Birthday, and Labour Day-11 a.m.
to 7 p.m.
4.Collingwood Bottle Store, corner Douglas Street and North
Road:
Monday to Thursday inclusive-11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
to 7 p.m.
Fridays-10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturdays and public holidays-11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The variations as set out below shall apply, except where
contrary to the proposed varied hours as set out in 1, 2, 3, and
4 above.
(a) On any day when the retail shops in Invercargill observe
late closing, the hours for such days for all four places
named above shall be the same hours as those
observed on Fridays.
(b) On any of the following days, namely, New Year's Day,
the day following New Year's Day, Easter Monday,
Anzac Day, Queen's Birthday, Labour Day, Christmas
Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Eve, when the
retail shops in Invercargill do not observe late closing,
the hours for such days for all four places above
shall be the same as those observed on Saturdays."

Honours and Awards
THE Deputy of the Governor-General has announced that the
Queen has been pleased to approve the award of the George
Medal to Detective Inspector Edward Graham Perry, New
Zealand Police, of Auckland, in recognition of his outstanding
bravery in the arrest of an armed and dangerous man at
Whangarei on 11 July 1969.

The Standards Act 1965-Draft Amendments to New Zealand
Standard Specifications
Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act
1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft
amendments are being circulated:

D 117 Draft amendment No. 2 to NZS 1900:-, Model
building bylaw-
Chapter 3 : 1964, General requirements.
D 118 Draft amendment No. 2 to NZS 1900:-, Model
building bylaw-
Chapter 4 : 1964, Residential buildings.
NOTE-These amendments are of a routine nature only, and
do not affect the technical requirements of the model bylaw.
All persons who may be affected by these amendments and
who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain
copies on loan from the Standards Association of New Zea-
land, New Zealand Display Centre Building, Sturdee Street (or
Private Bag), Wellington.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 17 October
1969.

Rock Oyster Farming Lease
Pursuant to the Rock Oyster Farming Act 1964, the Minister
of Marine has granted to Kenneth Goodwill Quaife and Doreen
Adelaide Quaife, both of Whakapirau, the lease of 4 acres of
sea bed (lease No. 107) in the Pahi River, Kaipara Harbour,
for the cultivation of rock oysters.

Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954-Proposed
Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union
Pursuant to section 86 of the Industrial Conciliation and
Arbitration Act 1954, it is hereby notified that the registration
of the Westland Retail Shop Assistants Industrial Union of
Workers, Registered No. 1164, situated at Lyceum Hall,
Guinness Street, Greymouth, will, unless cause to the contrary
is shown, be cancelled on the expiration of 6 weeks from the
date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954-Cancellation
of Registration of Industrial Union
Pursuant to section 86 of the Industrial Conciliation and
Arbitration Act 1954, it is hereby notified that the registration
of the Dunedin Corporation Transport Officials' Industrial
Union of Workers, Registered No. 1094, situated at 326 George
Street, Dunedin, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the
publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand
Pursuant to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand
Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the
Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as at the close of
business on 18 September 1969, and until further notice,
balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading
bank shall be equal to an amount which, when added to that
bank's holdings of Reserve Bank notes, as disclosed in that
bank's latest available weekly return of Banking Statistics
under the Statistics Act 1955, will not be less than the aggregate
of:
12 percent of that bank's demand deposits in New Zealand
plus 3 percent of that bank's time deposits in New Zealand,
as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by
that bank in accordance with section 31 of the Reserve Bank
of New Zealand Act 1964.
