Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the Borough of Pahiatua
(Notice No. Ag. 10476)

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture under the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purposes of the said section, the following special order, made by the Pahiatua Borough Council on the 14th day of July 1969, is hereby published.

SPECIAL ORDER

"THAT, pursuant and in exercise of the authority vested in Council by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, Noxious Weeds Act 1950, together with their respective amendments and regulations thereunder and all other powers, acts, and authorities thereunto enabling it in that behalf, the Council of the Borough of Pahiatua doth hereby resolve by way of special order:

"That the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto are noxious weeds within the Borough of Pahiatua.

"SCHEDULE

Barley grass (Hordeum murinum). Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans)."

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 120-Public Inquiry into Import Duties and Import Licensing Affecting Cotton Based Impregnated Anti-corrosive and Lagging Tape (ex Tariff Item 59.12.03)

  1. The Tariff and Development Board has been requested by the Minister of Customs to inquire into and report on the rates of duty, if any, which should be applied to imports of cotton based impregnated anti-corrosive and lagging tape, classified in Tariff item 59.12.03. The Board will also consider the question of import licensing as it affects these goods.

  2. The Board will, in accordance with its normal procedures, conduct a public inquiry in the Boardroom, First Floor, Law Society Building, 26 Waring Taylor Street, Wellington, on Tuesday, 30 September 1969, commencing at 10.30 a.m.

  3. Any person who intends to tender evidence should lodge 12 copies of a typewritten statement of the evidence to be presented, under oath, at the public inquiry, with the under-named no later than Tuesday, 16 September 1969. In preparing this evidence, the "Notes for Guidance of Witnesses", prepared by the Board, may be of assistance. Copies of these notes may be obtained from the under-named.

Revision of District Valuation Rolls

PURSUANT to the Valuation of Land Act 1951, the Valuer-General has revised, as at 1 August 1969, the district valuation rolls for the districts named in the following Schedule; provided that, in the case of Auckland City, such revision relates to the Tamaki portion only.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Emergency Protection Authority has been requested to undertake an inquiry, in terms of the Tariff and Development Board Amendment Act 1967, and to report, in terms of section 10D of that Act, concerning the following goods:

Postage, revenue, and similar stamps (including stamp postmarks and franked envelopes, lettercards, and the like) used, or, if unused, not of current issue in New Zealand, falling within Tariff item 99.04.00.

Notice of Varied Hours for Sale of Liquor at the Kopu Station Hotel, Kopu

PURSUANT to section 221A (16) of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as inserted by the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act (No. 2) 1967, I, John Lochiel Robson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Waikato Licensing Committee, on 18 July 1969, revoked the order made on 14 February 1969, published in the Gazette, 13 March 1969, p. 461, fixing hours other than the usual hours for opening and closing the Kopu Station Hotel, Kopu, for sale of liquor to the public, and made an order that such hotel premises be authorised to open at 11 o'clock in the morning and close at 10 o'clock in the evening, Mondays to Saturdays inclusive.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as at the close of business on 31 July 1969, and until further notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which, when added to that bank's holdings of Reserve Bank notes, as disclosed in that bank's latest available weekly return of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, will be not less than the aggregate of:

7 percent of that bank's demand deposits in New Zealand plus 3 percent of that bank's time deposits in New Zealand, as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 31 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964.
