PURSUANT to the provisions of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 24 January 1969, revoked the under-mentioned standard specifications:

NZS 1066:1952 Methods for the chemical analysis of liquid milk; being BS 1741:1951. (Superseded by NZS 2246:1969.)
NZS 1326:1961 Strength tests for the protective toecaps of footwear used for industrial purposes; being BS 953:1952 amended to meet New Zealand requirements. (Superseded by NZS 2245:1969.)
NZS 1327:1962 Men’s leather safety boots and shoes. (Superseded by NZS 2245:1969.)

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 24 January 1969, amended the under-mentioned standard specification by the incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:

Notice to Make Returns of Land Under the Land and Income Tax Act 1954
PURSUANT to the Land and Income Tax Act 1954, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue hereby gives notice as follows:

A return of land held as at noon on 31 March 1969 is required from every person and company, whether a taxpayer or not, being the owner of land in New Zealand within the meaning of the Land and Income Tax Act 1954, if the total unimproved value exceeds $60,000.

Returns are required to be delivered or forwarded to the district office of the Inland Revenue Department where the taxpayer’s records are filed not later than 7 May 1969.

Return forms are available at all district offices of the Inland Revenue Department.

Any person or company failing to furnish a return within the prescribed time is liable to a fine not exceeding $200 or not less than $4.

Assignment of Foreshore Licence for a Fish Shed at Halfmoon Bay, Stewart Island
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Secretary for Marine hereby gives notice that the licence granted* to Stewart Island Fish Packing and Storage Co. Ltd., of Invercargill, and assigned† to Skeggs Foods International Ltd., to use and occupy part of the foreshore at Halfmoon Bay, Stewart Island, for the purpose of maintaining thereon a fish shed is hereby assigned to Henry Claude Taylor and his administrators, executors, or assigns.

I, Victor Worth Thomas, Comptroller of Customs, give notice that I have applied to the Indecent Publications Tribunal for a decision as to whether the books
Bawdy Songs and Backroom Ballads, published by Caravelle Books Incorporated, 350 Lexington Avenue, New York, N.Y. 10016, and
Sexual Anomalies and Perversions, a summary of the works of the late Professor Dr Magnus Hirschfeld, edited by Norman Haire, ch.M., M.B., and published by Encyclopaedic Press, 115 Salisbury Road, Kilburn, London N.W. 6
are indecent or not, or for a decision as to their classification.
Temporary Protection of Industry
NOTICE is hereby given that the Emergency Protection Authority has been requested to undertake inquiries, in terms of the Tariff and Development Board Amendment Act 1967, and to report, in terms of section 10D of that Act, concerning the following goods:
- Electric and battery operated clocks, clock cases and surrounds, and clock dials, falling within Tariff items 91.04.02, 91.10.00, and 91.11.09.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand
PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as at the close of business on 6 March 1969, and until further notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which, when added to that bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes as disclosed in that bank’s latest available weekly return of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, will be not less than the aggregate of:
22 percent of that bank’s demand deposits in New Zealand plus 3 percent of that bank’s time deposits in New Zealand as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 31 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964.
