And whereas the Commission has decided that an order of
the nature recommended by the Examiner in the said report
should be made under the Act;
Now, therefore, the Trade Practices and Prices Commission
hereby orders and directs the Wellington District Wholesale
Wine and Spirits Merchants’ Association and its members:
(i) To discontinue any practice of collectively fixing, or
making specific recommendations, whether express or implied,
as to the prices or terms or conditions on which members shall
sell beer or spirits;
(ii) Not to repeat any practice as aforesaid in any form,
whether as members of the Association or otherwise howsoever.

The Road Classification (Rotorua County) Notice 2, 1968
PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regu-
lations 1955*, the Commissioner of Transport hereby gives
the following notice.
NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Road Classification
(Rotorua County) Notice 2, 1968. -
The Rotorua County Council’s proposed classification of
the roads as set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved. -
So much of the Warrant dated the 29th day of July 1966†
as relates to the classification of the roads described in the
Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

ROTORUA COUNTY
Roads Classified in Class Two
Okareka Loop Road (from Tarawera Road to Ormands
Quarry).
Tarawera Road (from the No. 30 State Highway (Te Kuiti -
Whakatane via Atiamuri) to a point 3 miles along the said
road from the said State highway).

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956 (as amended by section 3 (1) of the Local Authorities
Loans Amendment Act 1967), the undersigned Assistant
Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to

Decision of the Indecent Publications Tribunal

In the matter of the Indecent Publications Act 1963 and in
the matter of an application to the Tribunal for a decision
in respect of the book Querelle of Brest, by Jean Genet;
translated from the French by Gregory Streatham, and
published by Anthony Blond Ltd., London. NZ$3.10.
DECISION OF THE TRIBUNAL
This book has been considered by the Tribunal upon the
application of the Secretary for Justice. No submissions
were received from the applicant, but written submissions from
the distributor, Whitcombe and Tombs Ltd., of Christchurch,
were considered.
Genet is a writer whose prestige is very high in his own
country, France, and whose work in translation has had a
wide influence abroad. His autobiographical book The Thief’s
Journal has long been available here in paperback; his semi-
novels Our Lady of the Flowers and Miracle of the Rose have
been published in an edition uniform with the present volume;
at least two of his plays, Death Watch and The Maids, and
possibly others as well, have been performed in New Zealand
theatres; in any event their texts are freely accessible in
paperback editions in our bookshops and libraries. And despite
the sordid nature of his subject matter, in particular his pre-
occupation with crime, prostitution, and homosexuality, this
