✨ Weather Notes and Bankruptcy Notices
During the next 2 days a deep and extensive depression from the central Tasman Sea passed just to the south-west of Southland, while the associated trough crossed the country. Rain was general, except in Otago and Southland. Some considerable falls were reported in Bay of Plenty. From the 23rd to the 25th westerly conditions predominated, with rain in western districts of both Islands and, at first, also in central districts of the North Island. During the following 2 days a small depression formed over North-land and moved eastward, while an anticyclone was centred to the south of the Chatham Islands. Rain affected the northern half of the North Island and northern and western districts of the South Island. On the 28th a belt of high pressure extended over the country
between two anticyclones lying respectively to the north-west and far to the south-east, and the weather was fair to fine.
During the last 3 days of the month a depression from the South Tasman Sea crossed Southland and passed to the south-east while a second depression formed to the east of Cook Strait and moved towards the Chatham Islands. Rain was fairly general on the 29th and 30th, with cooler temperatures. On the last day of the month clearances were reported in some districts, but showers persisted in many places.
