Special Order Made by Westland County Council Altering Riding Boundaries

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, I hereby publish the following special order made by the Westland County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER
It was resolved, by way of special order:
That the Westland County Council, in exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in it by section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, resolves, by way of special order, as follows:
That the Central Riding be defined as:
“All that area in the Westland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the mouth of the Hokitika River, and proceeding up the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of the Hokitika Borough, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1925, p. 1923; thence north-easterly along the said south-eastern boundary of Hokitika Borough to and across Hauhau Road to the south-western corner of Rural Section 4356, situated in Block I, Kaniere Survey District; thence generally southerly along the northern side of Hauhau Road to the north-western side of Blue Spur Road; thence north-easterly generally along the western and northern sides of Blue Spur Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Rural Section 2906, situated in Blocks I and II, Kaniere Survey District; thence along that line to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 2906, aforesaid; thence generally southerly along the western side of the road forming the eastern boundaries of the western portion of Rural Section 722, situated in Blocks I and II, Kaniere Survey District, to the southernmost corner of Rural Section 722, aforesaid; thence south-easterly along the common boundary between part Reserve 1622, provisional State forest, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1920, p. 2840, and part Reserve 1622, State forest, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1935, p. 1020, to the western side of the road forming the boundary between part Reserve 1622, State forest, aforesaid, and part Reserve 145; thence southerly along the western side of the said road to its south-westernmost corner; thence south-easterly along the common boundary between part Reserve 145 and part Reserve 1622, State forest aforesaid, and along that boundary produced to the middle of Caledonian Creek; thence down the middle of Caledonian Creek to the middle of the Arahuira River; thence up the middle of the said Arahuira River to its source; thence southerly along a right line to the summit of Brownings Pass; thence generally southerly along the main divide to the summit of Whitcombe Pass; thence northerly along a right line to the source of the Whitcombe River; thence generally northerly along the right bank of the said Whitcombe River to a point opposite the junction of the Price River; thence north-westerly along a right line to the junction of Scamper Creek and Mikonui River; thence generally north-westerly along the right bank of the said Mikonui River to the sea coast; thence generally north-easterly along the sea coast to the point of commencement, excluding therefrom the Borough of Ross, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1878, pp. 3 and 1009.”

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as at the close of business on 13 September 1968, and until further notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which, when added to that bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes as disclosed in that bank’s latest available weekly return of banking statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, will be not less than the aggregate of:
5 percent of that bank’s demand deposits in New Zealand plus 3 percent of that bank’s time deposits in New Zealand as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 31 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964.
