NOTICE is hereby given that the Emergency Protection Authority has been requested by the Minister of Industries and Commerce to undertake an inquiry, in terms of the tariff and Development Board Amendment Act 1967, concerning the following goods:

Oil cans, falling within Tariff item 82.04.05.

Date of reference: 27 August 1968.

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 (as amended by section 3 (1) of the Local Authorities Loans Amendment Act 1967), the undersigned Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Assignment of Foreshore Licence for Fish Packaging Building in Westport Harbour

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Secretary for Marine hereby gives notice that the licence granted to Nelson Fisheries and Cool Storage Ltd., on 30 January 1958*, to use and occupy part of Westport Harbour for the purpose of maintaining thereon a fish packaging building is hereby assigned to Wilson Neill Ltd.

The Controlled (Non-Resident) Accounts Notice 1968

PURSUANT to the Exchange Control Regulations 1965, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

(1) This notice may be cited as the Controlled (Non-Resident) Accounts Notice 1968.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the 9th day of September 1968.

In this notice, the expression “non-resident account” means an account kept by any person in the name, or directly or indirectly for the benefit, of any person, or any two or more persons, if that person or any of those persons is—

(a) Not ordinarily resident in New Zealand (within the meaning of the Exchange Control Regulations 1965); or

(b) A trustee for or a nominee or agent of any person not ordinarily resident in New Zealand (within the meaning of the said regulations).

The non-resident accounts specified in the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Schedules hereto are hereby declared to be controlled accounts for the purposes of regulation 4b of the Exchange Control Regulations 1965 (as inserted by regulation 4 of the Exchange Control Regulations 1965, Amendment No. 1).
The Controlled (Non-Resident) Accounts Notice specified in the Sixth Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ANY non-resident account in New Zealand kept in the name or for the benefit of any person carrying on the business of banking outside New Zealand.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ANY non-resident account in New Zealand kept in the name or for the benefit of any person carrying on, whether in New Zealand or elsewhere, the business of arranging itineraries, accommodation, or other services for travellers, or otherwise providing travel-agency facilities.

THIRD SCHEDULE

ANY non-resident account in New Zealand kept anywhere in New Zealand in the name or for the benefit of any of the following persons:
