Special Order Made by Waimarino County Council
Altering Riding Boundaries
Pursuant to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Waimarino County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER
Special Order Passed at a Special Meeting of the Waimarino County Council held on 10 November 1967, and Confirmed at an Ordinary Meeting of the Waimarino County Council Held on 14 December 1967
THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, the Waimarino County Council resolves, by way of special order, as follows:

That the present division of the County of Waimarino into six ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said County shall be divided into five ridings, to be called respectively Manganui Riding, Ohakune Riding, Karioi Riding, Huikumu Riding, and Parapara Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

That the said Waimarino County Council shall consist of seven members, who shall be elected as follows:
(a) The electors of the Manganui Riding and the Ohakune Riding shall each elect two councillors;
(b) The electors of the Karioi Riding, Huikumu Riding, and Parapara Riding shall each elect one councillor.
- That the alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the 12th day of October 1968, being the day on which the triennial election of councillors is to be held.
SCHEDULE
MANGANUI RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District being portion of the County of Waimarino bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station Ruapehu in Block XI, Ruapehu S.D., and proceeding generally south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Urewa 1A and 1B, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 1 and the north-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 22586, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Raetihi 5A, the abutment of a road, the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block IV, Makotuku S.D., the abutment of a road, a right line to and along the north-western boundaries of Section 16, Block IV, Makotuku S.D., and Lot 13, D.P. 4518, to and along the middle line of Mangarewa Road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Raetihi 2B 3B; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary to the south-eastern corner of Raetihi 2B 3B; thence generally westerly along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Raetihi 2B 3B, the eastern and southern boundaries of Ngapakihi 1z 2, the eastern boundary of Ngapakihi 1x, and the northern boundary of the Borough of Raetihi to the eastern boundary of Section 26, Block VI, Makotuku S.D.; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 26, 4, and 27, Block VI, Makotuku S.D., to the north-eastern corner of the said Section 27; thence generally westerly along the northern boundary of the said Section 27, the northern, eastern, northern, and western boundaries of Section 21, Block II, Makotuku S.D., the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle line of a road, along the middle line of that road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Waimarino A 21, to and along that boundary and the generally northern boundaries of Waimarino A 21, the south-eastern boundaries of Waimarino 3N 1B, 3N 1A, and 3N 2B, the south-western boundary of Waimarino 3N 2B and its production to the middle of the Manganuiateao River, and along the middle of that river to the middle of the Wanganui River; thence generally northerly and easterly along the boundaries of the County of Waimarino to the point of commencement.
OHAKUNE RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District being portion of the County of Waimarino bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station E in Block XI, Ruapehu S.D., and proceeding generally easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Rangataua 1 and 3, and Waiakaka Block, and the northern boundary of Rangiwaea 1, to its north-eastern corner; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Rangiwaea 1 and its production to the southern side of the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Rangiwaea 4F 7 to its easternmost corner; thence generally south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Rangiwaea 4F 7 and its production to the southern side of No. 49 State Highway, and along that side and the eastern boundary of Rangiwaea 4F 16-2A 1 to the south-eastern corner of that subdivision; thence generally westerly along the southern boundary of Rangiwaea 4F 16-2A 1 and its production to the middle of the Mangaehuehu Stream, down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 6, Block IX, Karioi S.D., to and along that boundary and its production to and along the northern
boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block IX, Karioi S.D., the northern and western boundaries of Section 4, Block XII, Makotuku S.D., and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle line of Oruakukuru Road, along that middle line to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 3, Block XII, Makotuku S.D., to and along that boundary and the southern boundary of Section 2, Block XII, Makotuku S.D., and its production to the middle line of Otiranui Road, along that middle line to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 3, Block XI, Makotuku S.D., to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Hopetaka Stream, and down the middle of that stream to the middle of the Mangawhero River; thence northerly up the middle of that river and the middle of the Makotuku River to a point due east of the southernmost corner of Section 32, Block VI, Makotuku S.D.; thence due west along a right line to the right bank of the Makotuku River; thence generally northerly and north-easterly along the eastern boundaries of the Borough of Raetihi and the south-eastern boundaries of Manganui Riding, as hereinbefore described, to the point of commencement; excluding therefrom the Borough of Ohakune.
KARIOI RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District being portion of the County of Waimarino bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 3, Block II, Ngamatea S.D., and proceeding generally northerly along the eastern boundary of that section and its production to the middle line of a road, along that middle line to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 9, Block XVI, Makotuku S.D., to and along that boundary, the eastern and northern boundaries of that section, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle line of a road, and along that middle line to and along the middle line of Orouakukuru Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 3, Block XII, Makotuku S.D.; thence generally northerly and westerly along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Ohakune Riding, as hereinbefore described, to Trig. Station E in Block XI, Ruapehu S.D.; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Manganui Riding, as hereinbefore described, to Trig. Station Ruapehu in Block XI, Ruapehu S.D.; thence easterly, southerly, and westerly along the boundaries of the County of Waimarino to the point of commencement.
HUIKUMU RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District being portion of the County of Waimarino bounded by a line commencing at a point on the western boundary of Papahaua 1, adjacent to the Orouanga Stream, in Block XIII, Makotuku S.D., and proceeding generally northerly along the generally western boundaries of Papahaua 1 and 2B, the north-western boundary of Section 6, Block XIV, Makotuku S.D., the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Papahaua 3, the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Papahaua 4B, the western boundary of Section 4, Block XIV, Makotuku S.D., the southern, western, and northern boundaries of Section 11, Block X, Makotuku S.D., the eastern boundaries of Mairekura G, K, and L, the northern boundary of Mairekura B2, the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 5, Block X, Makotuku S.D., and the western boundaries of Sections 24 and 23, Block VI, Makotuku S.D., to the north-western corner of the said Section 23; thence generally north-westerly and easterly along the generally western and northern boundaries of the Borough of Raetihi to the eastern boundary of Section 26, Block VI, Makotuku S.D.; thence northerly and westerly along the western and southern boundaries of Manganui Riding, as hereinbefore described, to the middle of the Wanganui River; thence southerly and easterly along the boundaries of the County of Waimarino to the point of commencement.
PARAPARA RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District being portion of the County of Waimarino bounded by a line commencing at a point on the western boundary of Papahaua 1, adjacent to the Orouanga Stream, in Block XIII, Makotuku S.D., and proceeding generally northerly along the eastern boundaries of Huikumu Riding, as hereinbefore described, to the north-western corner of Section 23, Block VI, Makotuku S.D.; thence easterly along the southern boundaries of the Borough of Raetihi to the right bank of the Makotuku River; thence generally south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Ohakune Riding, as hereinbefore described, to a point on the middle line of Oruakukuru Road in line with the western boundary of Section 3, Block XII, Makotuku S.D.; thence generally southerly along the western boundaries of Karioi Riding, as hereinbefore described, to the south-eastern corner of Section 3, Block II, Ngamatea S.D.; thence generally westerly and northerly along the boundaries of the County of Waimarino to the point of commencement.
