Alteration and Extension of Boundaries of Tawera Pest Destruction District (Notice No. Ag. 10232)

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

O R D E R

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Tawera Pest Destruction District Order 1968.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the Tawera Pests Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 20th day of December 1965*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE TAWERA PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Tawera and Malvern Counties, containing 609,370 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Kowai and Waimakariri Rivers, Block VIII, Kowai Survey District, and proceeding south-westerly up the middle of the Kowai River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Reserve 461; thence south-easterly along that boundary to a point in line with the middle of Boundary Road; thence south-westerly to and along the middle of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Rural Section 18979; thence south-easterly along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 13715 and along another right line to the intersection of the western boundary of Rural Section 3719 and the north-western side of a road passing through that section and forming the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 15714; thence southerly across the said road and along the western boundary of Rural Section 3719 to its south-western corner; thence south-westerly along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 10759; thence continuing south-westerly along a right line to the northern-most corner of Lot 1, D.P. 3973, Block III, Hororata Survey District; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that lot for a distance of 20 chains; thence due west along a right line to the middle of the Selwyn River; thence westerly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the middle of the north branch of the Selwyn River; thence north-westerly along a right line to the southernmost end of Lake Lyndon; thence westerly along a right line to Red Hill; thence northerly and north-easterly along the summit of the Craigieburn Range to Hamilton Peak; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Reserve 4761 to the summit of the Black Range; thence westerly generally along the summit of Black Range to the watershed between the White River and Burnet Stream; thence westerly along that watershed to Mount Murchison; thence northerly generally along the summit of the Shaler Range to the northern boundary of Block VIII, Davie Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Blocks VIII, VII, and VI, Davie Survey District to the Main Divide; thence north-easterly generally along the Main Divide to the Dampier Range, Block II, Minchin Survey District; thence south-easterly generally along the summit of that range to Trig. W, Block I, Okuku Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the summit of the Puketeraki Range to Trig. Station S, Block IX, Upper Ashley Survey District; thence due west to the middle of the Waimakariri River; thence southerly generally down the middle of that river to the point of commencement.

The Horowhenua Electric Power District Representation Order 1968

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 20th day of May 1968

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

  1. (i) This order may be cited as the Horowhenua Electric Power District Representation Order 1968.

(ii) This order shall come into force on the date of the next general election of members of local authorities.

  1. The constituent districts of the Horowhenua Electric Power District, which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto, shall be a combined district for the purposes of the said Act.

  2. The local authority of the constituent district distinguished in the first column of the said Schedule by the letter “(P)” shall be the principal local authority for the said combined district.

  3. The number of representatives of each constituent district of the Horowhenua Electric Power District on the Horowhenua Electric Power Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district or combined district.

  4. The Order in Council dated the 27th day of June 1962, and published in the Gazette on the 28th day of the same month at page 1005, reapportioning representation on the Horowhenua Electric Power Board, is hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises Whakatane Harbour Board to reclaim from Whakatane Harbour that area, being an area of 4 acres 3 roods 39 perches, more or less, as shown blue on plan M.D. 12886 deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, being Whakatane Harbour Board endowment land.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 11 of the Tourist Hotel Corporation Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, as from the date hereof, cease to be administered by the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand for the purposes of the said Act.

PURSUANT to section 44 of the Mental Health Act 1911, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 24th day of July 1963 and published in the Gazette on the 1st day of August 1963 at page 1075, whereby certain buildings and land at Papatoetoe were declared to be a public institution within the meaning
