Allocating Land Taken for a Railway to the Purposes of Street at Taumarunui
ARTHUR PORRITT, Governor-General
A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the Gazette, become street, and that the said street shall be under the control of the Taumarunui Borough Council and shall be maintained by the said council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said council.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 8759 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

At the Government House at Wellington this 6th day of May 1968

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation, for the purposes of a burial ground for the common use and benefit of the Maori peoples.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation, for the purpose of a meeting place and meeting-house site, recreation ground, and sports ground for the common use and benefit of the Ngati Pahauwera tribe.

(b) Stops the said road.
