HAWKE'S BAY CATCHMENT BOARD
NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF CLASSIFICATION LIST
Classification Under Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, of Land in the Hawke's Bay Catchment Board—Ohuia-Whakaki Drainage Scheme Maintenance
NOTICE is hereby given that—
(a) The land in the part of the Hawke's Bay Catchment District described in the Schedule hereto has been classified under the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, and the classification is deemed a valid classification as from the date on which this notice is first published, namely the 28th day of February 1968.
(b) The proportions in which rates are to be imposed under that Act on the several classes of land are as follows:
Class A 100
Class B 80
Class C 60
Class D 30
Class E 10
Class G Exempt
(c) The classification list shows the division of properties into classes to be rated according to a graduated scale.
(d) The classification list may be inspected at the Board's offices, Browning Street, Napier, and Queen Street, Wairoa, during a period of 28 days hereafter.
(e) The classification list is deemed to be a special roll of ratepayers for the purposes of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956.
(f) Any person who is dissatisfied in respect of any matter appearing in the classification list has the right of appeal provided for by section 103 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, as substituted by section 18 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act 1959, which rights, and any other right to commence proceedings affecting the classification, must be exercised within 49 days hereafter. Appeals will normally be made to a Magistrate's Court, but appeals in respect of the method of making or of the form of validity of the classification as a whole may be made to the Land Valuation Court only.
(g) The classification has been made by Messrs R. G. Drummond and H. R. Crisp.
(h) Copies of the instructions given by the Board to the classifiers and of the resolutions of the Board relative to the classification may be inspected at the places and during the period specified in paragraph (d) of this notice.
SCHEDULE
COMMENCING at a point on the sea coast of Hawke Bay on the S.W. corner of Section 8, Block VI, Clyde S.D.; thence in generally northerly direction along the eastern side of Ngamotu Road to the most westerly point of Lot 7, D.P. 3916; thence in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of Lots 22 to 14 of Ngamotu Block to the S.W. corner of part Lot 2, D.P. 3916; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern bank of the Wairoa River to the N.W. corner of 3A; thence along its northern boundary; and thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of Hinewhaki part 1A, 1B, and 3A, Block II, Clyde S.D., to the N.W. corner of Hinewhaki 3A; thence east along the northern boundary of Te Rewa 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1; and thence in S.E. direction along the N.E. boundaries of Te Rewa 1 and Kairangi 2B 1, 2B 2, 2B 3, and 2B 4; thence in a northerly direction along the west boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 3853; thence along its northern boundary and that of Lot 2, D.P. 3853, and Lot 1, D.P. 3849, and in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 3849, to the south side of the State Highway No. 2; thence along the south side of that highway to a point opposite the S.W. corner of Hereheretau B 4R 9B, Block VIII, Clyde S.D.; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundaries of parts Lots 9 and 8, D.P. 2535, to the N.W. of Hereheretau B 4T 1; thence in an easterly direction along the northerly boundary of Hereheretau B4, B5, B6, and B7 Blocks to the N.E. corner of Hereheretau B 7C 2 Block; thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary of Hereheretau B 11D and part B 11E to its intersection with the State Highway No. 2; thence in a generally S.E. direction along the south side of that highway to the eastern boundary of Hereheretau B 2A 1, Block IV, Nuhaka S.D.; thence in a southerly direction along the western side of the road line in Hereheretau B 2A 2 to the sea coast of Hawke Bay; thence in a westerly direction along that coast to the point of commencement.
The area covered by the classification is generally the lands comprised in Ohuia, Te Waiaru, Whakaki, and parts Hereheretau B1 and B2 Blocks and adjoining lands, as the same is more particularly shown on Hawke's Bay Catchment Board plan number 736c, and therein edged purple.
