Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964

Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 16 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964* to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

The Traffic (Waimairi County) Notice 1967

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waimairi County) Notice 1967.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 14th day of December 1950*, as relates to No. 51 State Highway at Belfast in Waimairi County is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waimairi County at Belfast:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff), also known as the Main North Road (from Englefield Road to a point 5 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said highway from the Northern Motorway).

Northern Motorway (from Dickeys Road to a point 6 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said Motorway from Dickeys Road).

Belfast Road (from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 28 chains measured easterly generally along Belfast Road from the said highway).

Cleland Street.

Darroch Street (from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 15 chains measured westerly generally along Darroch Street from the said highway).

Dickeys Road (from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 5 chains measured north-westerly generally along Dickeys Road from the said highway).

Revoking Appointment of, and Appointing Licensing Authorities for, Issue of Heavy Traffic Licences

Pursuant to subclause (2) of regulation 18 of the Motor Vehicle Taxation Regulations 1966*, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes as from 30 November 1967 the Warrants dated 4 September 1963† and 19 May 1967‡ and those parts of the Warrant dated 2 May 1954§, appointing the local authorities described in Column 1 of the First Schedule as the licensing authorities for the purpose of collecting heavy traffic fees due under the said regulations for the district of the local authority and for such areas as are described in Column 2 of the First Schedule hereto, and hereby appoints as from 1 December 1967 the local authorities described in Column 1 of the Second Schedule hereto to be the licensing authorities for the purpose of collecting heavy traffic fees, due under the said regulations, for the district of the respective local authority and for such other area or areas as are described in Column 2 of the Second Schedule opposite the respective name of the said local authority:

Provided that the Commissioner of Transport shall be the licensing authority in the case of all heavy motor vehicles owned by the Crown, as provided by subclause (1) of the said regulation.

Cancellation of Vesting in the Christchurch City Council and Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Christchurch and revokes the reservation for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.
