Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

This Order may be cited as the Stratford Borough Council Electric Lines Licence 1967.

Subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, the Stratford Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”) is hereby authorised to lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines, and to construct electric works which may from time to time be required for the distribution and supply of electrical energy within the area of supply described in the Schedule hereto.

The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and with all regulations made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), and (h) of regulation 15 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967.

This licence shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 21st day of May 1988.
SCHEDULE
THE area of supply shall be the Borough of Stratford as at present constituted.

Revoking a Licence Authorising the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity and to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines at Franz Josef Glacier

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 13th day of July 1960, and published in the Gazette on the 14th day of July 1960, at page 915, authorising the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand to use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect and use certain electric lines.

Authorising the Purchase by the Amethyst Electric Power Board of Certain Electric Works From the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 76 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the purchase by the Amethyst Electric Power Board from the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand, of the electric works described in the Schedule hereto, upon the terms contained in an agreement dated the 12th day of June 1967, made between the Board and the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand.
SCHEDULE
THE electric lines, reticulation, and associated equipment, the property of the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand, now used for the supply of electricity to consumers within the Franz Josef area of supply of the said Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand.

Authorising the Amethyst Electric Power Board to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity at Franz Josef Glacier

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to the Amethyst Electric Power Board (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), a licence subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from the Tatare River (hereinafter referred to as the “said stream”), situated in Block XII, Waiho Survey District, in the County of Westland, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 20 cu. ft. per second at any one time.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water Power Regulations 1934, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto, and to any regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.
UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
- Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the said stream at the point in Block XII, Waiho Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 96643 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS AND AREA OF SUPPLY
- The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 96643:
(a) Headworks consisting of dam and intake, with water-race, tunnels, and pipeline leading to the water wheel and powerhouse hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 150 ft.
(b) Water wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Block XII, Waiho Survey District.
(c) Tail race leading from the said water wheel back to the said stream.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- This licence shall, unless sooner determined, continue in force until the 1st day of February 1988.
RENTAL
- For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of the licence, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the commencement of this licence is 150 kilowatts.
PROTECTION OF BIRDS AND WILD ANIMAL LIFE
- The licensee or his assigns shall not do or permit any of their servants, agents, or workmen, to do anything in pursuance of this licence which may cause the destruction of birds or of any form of wild animal life.
TREES NOT TO BE FELLED OR BRANCHES REMOVED EXCEPT BY CONSENT
- The headworks and pipelines shall be so constructed and at all times maintained by the licensee, so that no damage or disfigurement shall be done to or suffered by the scenic reserve. No trees shall be felled or branches removed in connection with the construction or maintenance of any works (including transmission lines), without the prior consent in writing of the Commissioner of Crown Lands for the district being first had and obtained, and the Commissioner may, in granting such consent, impose such conditions as he may consider necessary.
LICENSEE SHALL PROTECT BUSH AND TREES FROM FIRE
- The licensee shall take all reasonable precautions to protect the bush and trees on the scenic reserve from fire.
