Classification of State Highways

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955*, the Commissioner of Transport, as required by the National Roads Board, hereby revokes so much of the Warrant dated the 8th day of June 1965+, which relates to the State highways described in the Schedule hereto, and hereby declares that the said State highways shall belong to the Class as set out in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE

STATE HIGHWAYS CLASSIFIED IN CLASS ONE

No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) (from Hari Hari to Poerua Valley Road).

No. 67 State Highway (Westport-Karamea) (from Waimangaroa to the Mokihinui Bridge).

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Recommendation No. D 8957—The Selection, Use, and Maintenance of Underwater Swimming Equipment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the above-mentioned draft New Zealand standard recommendation is being circulated.

All persons who may be affected by this recommendation and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies on loan from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Private Bag, Wellington C. 1.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 11 August 1967.

Amendments to the Rules of the Royal Society of New Zealand

PURSUANT to the Royal Society of New Zealand Act 1965, the Fellows of the Royal Society of New Zealand, at the annual meeting held on 17 May 1967, passed resolutions amending rules of the Society published in the Gazette, on 22 December 1965, the effect of such resolutions being as follows:

SECTION E—THE MEMBER BODIES' COMMITTEE

RULE E.1 was amended to read:

E.1. The Member Bodies’ Committee shall consist of:

(a) The President who shall be its Chairman;

(b) Representatives to be nominated by each of the member bodies, each to hold office for two years from the date of appointment and to be eligible for reappointment, from whom shall be elected a Vice-Chairman;

(c) The Local Secretary in New Zealand for the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science.

SECTION L—FELLOWS

RULES L.2 and L.4 were amended to read:

L.2. The total number of Fellows shall be restricted by limiting the number of Fellows elected annually.

L.4. Normally five Fellows should be elected in one year. The Fellows in Annual Meeting shall determine the number of Fellows to be recommended by the Selection Committee in the following year up to a maximum of five but the Fellows shall not be compelled to elect that number.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 22 June 1967, declared the under- mentioned specification to be a standard specification:

PURSUANT to the Dental Regulations 1964, I, William Hunter Barrett, the Returning Officer for the purposes of those regulations, hereby give the following notice with respect to the elections of persons to the Dental Council of New Zealand under paragraphs (d) and (e) of section 3 (2) of the Dental Act 1963.
