(2) If, in respect of any lot of butter sold by a retailer, the maximum price calculated in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this clause is not an exact number of pence or halfpence or cents, the maximum price of the lot shall be computed to the next upward halfpenny or to the nearest whole cent.

SPECIAL PRICES WHERE EXTRAORDINARY CHARGES INCURRED

  1. Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions of this order and subject to such conditions, if any, as it thinks fit, the Tribunal, on application by any trader, may authorise special maximum prices in respect of any butter to which this order applies where special circumstances exist or for any reason extraordinary charges are incurred by the trader. Any authority given by the Tribunal under this clause may apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of butter or may relate generally to all butter to which this order applies sold by the trader while the approval remains in force.

Price Order No. 2038 (Amendment No. 19 of Price Order No. 1943) (Eggs)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, I, Geoffrey Harold Datson, pursuant to a delegation from the Secretary of Industries and Commerce, acting under a delegation from the Price Tribunal, hereby make the following price order:

  1. This order may be cited as Price Order No. 2038 and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1943* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

  2. This order shall come into force on the 24th day of June 1967.

  3. The principal order is hereby amended by revoking the First and Second Schedules thereto, and substituting the following Schedules.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as at the close of business on Tuesday, 20 June 1967, and until further notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which, when added to that bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes as disclosed in that bank’s latest available weekly return of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, will be not less than the aggregate of: 9 percent of that bank’s demand deposits in New Zealand plus 3 percent of that bank’s time deposits in New Zealand (excluding wool retention deposits) as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 31 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964.

The balances to be maintained as aforesaid shall be exclusive of any balance held by a trading bank in its wool retention account at the Reserve Bank.
