THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
No. 32

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964* to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Tracked Motor Vehicles—Exemption from Registration Fees and Annual Licence Fees

———

PURSUANT to regulation 3, subclause (2), Motor Vehicle Taxation Regulations 1966*, any motor vehicle propelled and supported solely by means of self-laying tracks shall be exempt on and after 1 July 1967 from the payment of registration fees and annual licence fees under Part II of the Transport Act 1962.

Closely Populated Locality and Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

(1) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 21st day of May 1959†, which relates to Halswell in Halswell County is hereby revoked.

(2) The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

(3) The area specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

SITUATED within Halswell County at Halswell:

No. 75 State Highway (Christchurch-Akaroa) from (Dunbars Road to a point 11 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said highway from Glover Road).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Halswell County at Oaklands:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point at the junction of the north-eastern side of Dunbars Road with the north-western side of No. 75 State Highway (Christchurch-Akaroa); thence south-westerly generally along the north-western side of No. 75 State Highway (Christchurch-Akaroa), across Lillian Street to the junction with Nicholls Road; thence west-south-westerly generally along the northern side of Nicholls Road to the north-eastern bank of the Nottingham Stream; thence westerly and northerly generally along the said stream to a point in line with the prolongation of the north-eastern side of Checketts Avenue; thence north-easterly generally by a right line to the junction of the north-western side of Hindess Street with the south-western side of Dunbars Road; thence north-easterly generally across Dunbars Road at right angles to its south-western side to its north-eastern side; thence south-easterly generally along the north-eastern side of Dunbars Road to the commencing point.

Roads Excluded from Speed Limitation and Limited Speed Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 2nd day of June 1966†, which relates to areas in Manukau City is hereby revoked.

  2. All the roads in Manukau City with the exception of those roads contained in the areas specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Manukau City:

At Ardmore—All that area at Ardmore consisting of the area of land occupied by the School of Engineering, University of Auckland, and the area occupied by the Ardmore Teachers College.

At Bucklands Beach and Eastern Beach—All that area at Bucklands Beach and Eastern Beach bounded by a line commencing at the point where the northern boundary of Howick Borough meets the shore of the Hauraki Gulf; thence south-westerly generally along that boundary to the north-western side of Hutchinsons Road; thence north-westerly generally by a right line to a point on the southern side of Gills Road 10 chains measured westerly generally along the said road from Hutchinsons Road; thence across Gills Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence by a right line to a point on the south-eastern side of Bucklands Beach Road 3 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from Richard Avenue; thence across Bucklands Beach Road at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence by a right line to a point on the shore of the Tamaki Estuary opposite the end of Pigeon Mountain Road; thence northerly generally along the shore of the said Estuary, and south-easterly generally along the shore of the Hauraki Gulf to the commencing point.

At Beachlands—All those roads at Beachlands including Beachlands Road (from a point 5 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said road from Shelly Bay Road to Cherrie Road).

At Clevedon—Papakura-Clevedon-Kawa Kawa Road (from a point 5 chains measured northerly generally along the said road from East Road to a point 5 chains measured north-easterly generally along the Papakura-Clevedon-Kawa Kawa Road from the entrance to the Clevedon Public School). North Road (from the Pakakura-Clevedon-Kawa Kawa Bay Road to Brookby Road).

At Kawa Kawa Bay—Beach Road (from a point 12 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road from Coast Road to a point 4 chains measured north-easterly generally along Beach Road from Karaka Road). Coast Road (from Beach Road to Bertram Road).

At Mangere, Mangere Bridge, Mangere East and Favona—All that area at Mangere, Mangere Bridge, Mangere East, and Favona except that portion of Favona Road described in the Second Schedule hereto, bounded by a line commencing at the point where the south-western boundary of Otahuhu Borough meets the north-western boundary of Papatoetoe Borough; thence south-westerly generally along the north-western boundary of Papatoetoe Borough and along the south-eastern side of Portage Road to a point opposite the south-western side of Henwood Road where it meets Portage Road; thence across Portage Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-westerly generally by a right line across the end of Richard Avenue to the south-eastern side of Pukaki Road; thence north-easterly generally along the south-eastern side of Pukaki Road to the southern side of the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt Road); thence westerly generally by a right line across Pukaki Road to a point on the south-eastern side of Westney Road 26 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said road side from Kirkbridge Road; thence across Westney Road at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence due west by a right line to a point on the south-eastern side of the George Bolt Memorial Drive; thence north-easterly generally along that side of George Bolt Memorial Drive to the south-western side of Kirkbridge Road; thence across Kirkbridge Road at right angles from its south-western side to its north-eastern side; thence northerly generally along the said road side across Viscount Road, Sperry Road, and McKenzie Road to the south-eastern side of Mountain Road; thence across Mountain Road by a right line to the north-eastern side of Wallace Road; thence northerly generally along the said road side across Miller Road to the south-eastern side of Pikatea Road; thence across Wallace Road at right angles from its north-eastern side to its south-western side; thence westerly generally by a right line across the southern end of Wellesley Road to a point on the bank of the Oxidation Pond; thence northerly and westerly generally along the bank of the Oxidation Pond and northerly and easterly
