LAKE WAKATIPU STEAMER SERVICE

  1. Explosive Traffic—Dangerous goods will be conveyed by cargo boats only. Small lots of explosives may be accepted or declined at the option of the Department.

  2. Undumped Bales of Wool and Skins—(a) The following rates will apply, between the points specified, for the conveyance of undumped bales of wool and skins not exceeding 4 cwt per bale:

(b) Where bales exceed 4 cwt each, the excess weight will be charged pro rata at the general cargo rate, n.o.s., paragraph 23 hereof.

  1. Heavy Machinery and Heavy Lifts—(a) The following charges, which cover freight, also crange on and off steamers, will apply for the conveyance of single packages of general cargo, n.o.s., over 18 cwt and under 3 tons, between Kingston and Queenstown and intermediate calling places or between Queenstown and Head of Lake and intermediate calling places:

1¾ " to 2 " 8.30
2 " to 2¼ " 9.35

2½ " to 3 " 15.55

NOTE—Single packages over 3 tons and under 6 tons may be carried on the steamer, but are subject to special arrangements with the Officer in Charge, Queenstown, who will advise the charges when arranging transport.

(b) Single packages of general cargo, not otherwise specified weighing over 18 cwt and under 3 tons, conveyed under the provisions of this paragraph, consigned between the following points, will be charged as under:
