  1. Class E

  2. Minimum loads of goods chargeable at Class E will be as follows:

Each Four-wheeled Wagon n.o.s.* Each LA or Kp Wagon Each LC Wagon Each RB Wagon Each Bogie Wagon n.o.s.
Bulk artificial fertilisers and manure, and raw materials for the manufacture of fertilisers and manures Tons 6 Tons 10 Tons 14 Tons 22 Tons ..
Bagged artificial fertilisers and manure, and raw materials for the manufacture of fertilisers and manures 6 8 12 20 ..
Wheat, oats, barley 6 8 10 16 12
Goods in Class E n.o.s. (including humic compost) 5 6 12 10

*L wagons available in South Island only.

Any less quantity will be charged at such minimum or in accordance with paragraph 2 hereof.

  1. Goods classified Class E not complying with the minimum loads specified in paragraph 1 hereof but complying with the following minimum loads will be charged Class E plus 25 percent:
Each Four-wheeled Wagon n.o.s.* Each LA or Kp Wagon Each LC Wagon Each RB Wagon Each Bogie Wagon n.o.s.
Bulk artificial fertilisers and manure, and raw materials for the manufacture of fertilisers and manures Tons 4 Tons 8 Tons 10 Tons 16 Tons ..
Bagged artificial fertilisers and manure, and raw materials for the manufacture of fertilisers and manures 4 6 8 14 ..
Wheat, oats, barley 4 6 7 12 8
Goods in Class E n.o.s. (including humic compost) 9 7

Any less quantity will be charged at such minimum or on actual weight at Class E plus 50 percent, whichever is cheaper.

  1. The charge at Class E single rate with loading and/or unloading charges added shall not be greater than when computed at Class D rate.

  2. Handling and tallying—The Department may require all loading, unloading, or tallying to be performed by the owners. Where loading, unloading, or tallying is performed by the Department, the following charges will be made:

Charge Per Ton Minimum Charge
Loading or unloading and including tallying where performed c 75 c 40
Tallying without handling .. 30 30

Exceptions—No charge will be made for loading, unloading, or tallying when goods are charged at Class E plus 25 or 50 percent except where in section 68 it is provided that the loading and unloading be performed by the owners.
