GOODS—continued

  1. Computation of Charges—continued

  2. Bogie Wagon Rate—Except where otherwise specified, a rate per wagon refers to a four-wheeled
wagon, and except as aforesaid, a bogie wagon will, in computing charges at a rate per wagon, be
charged at twice the rate for a four-wheeled wagon. See also Section 106.

  3. Explosives—(a) Except as otherwise provided, goods of an explosive nature not permitted to
be conveyed in wagons containing ordinary goods will be subject to an additional charge of $1
per consignment (irrespective of the quantity or the distance hauled).

(b) Exception: The surcharge will not apply to small consignments of explosives which are railed
in portable magazines. However, where the Department is unable to supply a portable magazine
on request and the consignor elects to load the consignment in a wagon the surcharge will apply.

  1. Goods Booked Between Two Separate Sections of Railway—The charges for each section will
    be computed separately.
