Computation of Charges—continued
-
Bogie Wagon Rate—Except where otherwise specified, a rate per wagon refers to a four-wheeled
wagon, and except as aforesaid, a bogie wagon will, in computing charges at a rate per wagon, be
charged at twice the rate for a four-wheeled wagon. See also Section 106. -
Explosives—(a) Except as otherwise provided, goods of an explosive nature not permitted to
be conveyed in wagons containing ordinary goods will be subject to an additional charge of $1
per consignment (irrespective of the quantity or the distance hauled).
(b) Exception: The surcharge will not apply to small consignments of explosives which are railed
in portable magazines. However, where the Department is unable to supply a portable magazine
on request and the consignor elects to load the consignment in a wagon the surcharge will apply.
- Goods Booked Between Two Separate Sections of Railway—The charges for each section will
be computed separately.
