PURSUANT to section 9 of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to authorise the holders for the time being of the offices in the service of the Local Authorities specified in the Schedule below to take and receive statutory declarations under the said Act.

Constituting Certain Secondary Urban Fire Districts
PURSUANT to section 18 of the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby declares the urban area of Tairua in the County of Thames, the urban area of Whataroa in the Westland County, and the urban area of Oban in the Stewart Island County, to be constituted secondary urban fire districts, to be known as the Tairua Secondary Urban Fire District, the Whataroa Secondary Urban Fire District, and the Oban Secondary Urban Fire District respectively.

Notice Respecting Proposed Abolition of Waiotahi Drainage District
It is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, pursuant to section 141 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, praying that the Waiotahi Drainage Board be dissolved. All persons affected who object to the proposed dissolution of the Board are hereby called upon to lodge any objections to, or petitions against, the proposed dissolution with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington, within one month from the date of publication of this notice.

Land Proclaimed as Road, Road Closed, and Land Taken in Blocks VI and VII, Apiti Survey District, Kiwitea County
PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, the Minister of Works hereby proclaims as road the land described in the First Schedule hereto; also hereby proclaims as closed the road described in the Second, Third, and Fourth Schedules hereto; and also hereby takes the land described in the Fifth and Sixth Schedules hereto for the purpose of subsection (6) of the said section 29; and declares that the road first described in the said Second Schedule, when closed, shall vest in Trevor Stanley Alderson, of Rangiwahia, farmer, subject to memorandum of mortgage No. 650682, Wellington Land Registry; that the road secondly and thirdly described in the said Second Schedule, when closed, shall be incorporated in deferred payment licence, Volume 457, folio 190, Wellington Land Registry, held by Peep-O-Day Ltd., of Palmerston North; that the road described in the said Third Schedule, when closed, and the land described in the said Fifth Schedule, when taken, shall be incorporated in renewable lease, Volume 923, folio 48, Wellington Land Registry, held by Lionel Grace Moran, of Kimbolton, farmer, subject to memorandum of mortgage No. 481010, Wellington Land Registry; and that the road described in the said fourth Schedule, when closed, and the land described in the said Sixth Schedule, when taken, shall vest in George Henry Murland, of Kimbolton, farmer, subject to memorandum of mortgage Nos. 558234 and 560554, Wellington Land Registry.
