Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 16 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964* to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Closely Populated Localities Extended and Limited Speed Zone Revoked

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

1. That so much of Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 14th day of March 1938† which relates to roads at Clyde in Vincent County and the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 15th day of September 1958‡, which relates to No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton) referred to in the said Warrant as the Milton-Queenstown State Highway No. 64 at Clyde in Vincent County are hereby revoked.

2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton) (from a point 16 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said highway from Matau Street to a point 12 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said highway from Whitby Street).

Hartley Road (from No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton) to a point 2 chains measured easterly generally along the said road from Newcastle Street).

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work at Kopaki and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve Specifying the Manner of Disposal and How Proceeds of Sale Shall be Utilised

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation as a reserve for road purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto, and further, declares that the said land may be disposed of by the Papatoetoe City Council at current market value, the proceeds from any such sale to be paid into the Papatoetoe City Council’s reserves account, such moneys to be used and applied in or towards the improvement of other public reserves under the control of the Council, or in or towards the purchase of other land for public reserves.
