Alteration and Extension of the Boundaries of Taieri Ridge Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 10037)

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

O R D E R

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Taieri Ridge Rabbit District Order 1967.

(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1967.

  1. The boundaries of the Taieri Ridge Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 15th day of September 1948*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE TAIERI RIDGE RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago Land District and Counties of Maniototo, Waihemo, and Taieri, containing 156,800 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Run 712, Block V, Rock and Pillar Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Runs 712, 711, 205H, 205B, and 205G to the south-eastern side of Gorge Road; thence generally north-easterly along that side and the northern boundary of Section 7, Block XIII, Rock and Pillar Survey District, and that boundary produced to the middle of the Taieri River; thence south-easterly down the middle of that river to a point due west of Trig. Station K, Flat Hill; thence due east to the north-eastern corner of Section 1, Block IV, Rock and Pillar Survey District; thence generally south-easterly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 1 and 2, Block IV, aforesaid, to the north-western corner of Section 2, Block IV, Highlay Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Section 2, aforesaid, and its production to the eastern side of Matheson Road; thence generally south-westerly along the north-eastern and south-eastern sides of Matheson Road and Scorgie Road to the northernmost corner of Section 14, Block I, Budle Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 14, 26, 15, and 16, Block I, Budle Survey District, and along the eastern side of a road intersecting Section 1, Block III, Strath Taieri Survey District, and along the western boundaries of Sections 18, 1, and 2, Block VII, Strath Taieri Survey District, to the south-western corner of Section 2, aforesaid; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 3 and 14, Block VII, aforesaid, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the western boundary of Section 17, Block VI, Budle Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 17, 16, 24, 15, and 14, Block VI, aforesaid, and Sections 2 and 1, Block I, Hummock Survey District, to the northernmost corner of Section 4, Block I, aforesaid; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Section 4, aforesaid, to the north-western boundary of Run 121; thence south-westerly along that boundary to its southernmost intersection with Nenthorn Stream; thence generally south-easterly down the middle of Nenthorn Stream to the south-western boundary of Run 121; thence south-easterly along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Run 121A to the north-eastern corner of Section 1, Block VII, Hummock Survey District; thence generally southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 1 and 2, Block VII, and Section 1, Block IX, Hummock Survey District, and Section 3, Block VIII, Silverpeak Survey District, to the middle of Three O’Clock Stream; thence generally south-westerly down the middle of Three O’Clock Stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block VIII, Nenthorn Survey District; thence generally south-westerly to, and along, that boundary, and westerly along the southern boundaries of Section 3, aforesaid, and Section 2, Block VII, Nenthorn Survey District, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Taieri River; thence generally north-westerly up the middle of the Taieri River to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Run 713; thence north-westerly to, and along, that boundary, north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary, and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Run 713 to the point of commencement.

(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1967.

  1. The boundaries of the Kyeburn Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 14th day of November 1951*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

BOUNDARIES OF THE KYEBURN RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago Land District and Counties of Maniototo and Waitaki, and including the Borough of Naseby, containing 236,500 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Run 362B, Mount Buster Survey District, and proceeding easterly along the northern boundary of that run to the middle of the Otematata River; thence generally southerly up the middle of the Otematata River to the north-western boundary of Run 574 (Hut Creek); thence north-easterly along that boundary to the northernmost corner of Run 574; thence generally south-easterly along the eastern boundaries of Runs 574, 576, 736, 206D and 206E, and the north-eastern boundary of Run 203C, to Kakanui Peak; thence generally south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Runs 203C and 203A to the northern boundary of Section 1, Block XIII, Swinburn Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary and southerly along the western boundary of Section 1, aforesaid, to Trig. Station K, Flat Hill; thence due west to the middle of the Taieri River; thence north-westerly up the middle of the Taieri River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 7, Block XIII, Rock and Pillar Survey District; thence generally south-westerly to, and along, that boundary and the south-eastern side of Gorge Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 23, Block I, Rock and Pillar Survey District; thence northerly to, and along, that boundary to the southern boundary of Section 1, Block XV, Maniototo Survey District; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of Section 1, and north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Section 2, to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 8, Block XV, aforesaid; thence due north to the middle of the Taieri River; thence generally westerly up the middle of the Taieri River to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 4, Block XI, Maniototo Survey District; thence generally northerly to, and along, the eastern boundary of Section 4, aforesaid, and the eastern boundaries of Sections 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 29, 26, and 23, Town of Komako (Waipiata), and the western side of the Waipiata-Naseby Road to the northern side of No. 85 State Highway; thence westerly along the northern side of that highway to, and along, the north-eastern side of a road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections 13, 12, 26, 29, 48, 35, 45, 23, and 8, Block II, Maniototo Survey District, to the eastern side of the Ranfurly-Naseby Road; thence generally north-easterly along the south-eastern side of that road to the north-western corner of Section 23, Block VI, Naseby Survey District; thence along a right line to the southernmost corner of Section 7, Block VI, Naseby Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 7 and 8, westerly along the southern boundaries of Sections 9 and 17, and north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Section 17, Block VI, aforesaid, to the southern side of the Wedderburn-Naseby Plantation Road; thence generally south-westerly along the southern side of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Run 306; thence to, and generally northerly along, the generally eastern boundaries of Runs 306, 306A, 227D, and 227C to the point of commencement.
