Alteration to the Scale of Charges Upon the New Zealand Government Railways

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES

PURSUANT to the Government Railways Act 1949, the Minister of Railways hereby makes the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges made on the 5th day of March 1965 and published in the Supplement dated the 12th day of May 1965 to the New Zealand Gazette of the 6th day of May 1965, and to the charges, terms, and conditions contained in sections 68 to 71 inclusive published in the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette dated 2 September 1963, and to the Local Rates Scale of Charges made on the 27th day of April 1965 and published in the Supplement dated the 24th day of May 1965 to the New Zealand Gazette of the 20th day of May 1965 in force on the New Zealand Government Railways, and hereby declares that such alterations shall come into force on the days set out hereunder:

Sections 54 to 135 inclusive and
Section 136, paragraphs 10 to 28 inclusive, of the General Scale of Charges .. .. .. .. .. 1 January 1967
All sections in the Local Rates Scale of Charges .. .. .. .. ..

Sections 1 to 53 inclusive and
Section 136, paragraphs 5 to 9 inclusive, of the General Scale of Charges .. .. .. .. .. 1 February 1967

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES

PASSENGERS

The fares and rates set out in sections 1 to 37 inclusive, with the exceptions indicated hereafter, are increased by 5 per centum, minimum increase 1d. The fares and rates so calculated are then rounded to the nearest 6d.

Exceptionsβ€”The fares and rates embodied in the following sections are not increased:

2. Ordinary Tickets

5. Ten-trip Concession Tickets

Exceeding 24 miles .. .. .. 1s. 6d. per ticket.

6. Special Excursion Tickets

Paragraph 2: Fares set out in this paragraph are increased to the level of the fares provided in section 2, less 10 per centum. The fares so calculated are then rounded to the nearest 6d.
