Extending a 30 Miles per Hour Speed Limit and Limited
Speed Zone Declared
Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, dated the 23rd day of December 1963* which relates to roads in Levin Borough and in Horowhenua County adjacent to Levin Borough is hereby revoked.
  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
  4. The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.
    FIRST SCHEDULE
    SITUATED within Levin Borough:
    No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from the southern boundary of Levin Borough to a point 28 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said State highway from the said boundary; and from the northern boundary of Levin Borough to a point 29 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from the said boundary).
    No. 57 State Highway (Levin-Palmerston North via Shannon) (from the eastern boundary of Levin Borough to a point 24 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said State highway from the said boundary).
    Arapaepae Road.
    Bruce Road.
    Hokio Beach Road (from Bruce Road to the western boundary of Levin Borough).
    Kawiu Road (from Tirotiro Road to the western boundary of Levin Borough).
    Makomako Road (from Tirotiro Road to the western boundary of Levin Borough).
    Roslyn Road.
    Tararua Road.
    SECOND SCHEDULE
    SITUATED within Horowhenua County adjacent to Levin Borough:
    Fairfield Road (from MacArthur Street to the northern boundary of Levin Borough at a point 20 chains measured north-easterly generally along Fairfield Road from MacArthur Street).
    Kawiu Road (from Tirotiro Road to Weraroa Road).
    THIRD SCHEDULE
    SITUATED within Levin Borough:
    No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from the southern boundary of Levin Borough to a point 28 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said State highway from the said boundary).
    Tararua Road.

    Roads Excluded from Speed Limitations and Limited Speed Zones Declared
    Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:
  5. The following Warrants are hereby revoked:
    (a) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 5th day of December 1949†, as relates to roads in Levels County.
    (b) The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, dated the 21st day of March 1958‡, as relates to No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) in Levels County.
    (c) The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956
    , dated the 21st day of June 1963§, as relates to roads in Timaru City.
    (d) The Warrant under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, dated the 17th day of December 1963∥, as relates to Morgans Road in Timaru City.
  6. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
  7. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.

    SITUATED with Levels County:
    No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from the northern boundary of Timaru City to a point 65 chains measured northerly generally along the said highway from the No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton)).
