PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the
Schedule hereto to be Crown land, subject to the Land Act
1948, as from the 25th day of October 1966.

SCHEDULE

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 31·8 perches situated in the
City of Invercargill, being Lot 6, D.P. 3869, being also part
Section 32, Block XIX, Invercargill Hundred. All certificate
of title, Volume 164, folio 207, Southland Land Registry.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of
Works hereby revokes the notice dated the 20th day of
October 1965, and published in Gazette, 11 November 1965,
No. 67, page 2016, declaring land acquired for a Government
work and not required for that purpose to be Crown land,
in so far as it affects the area of 5 acres 2 roods 3 perches,
first described in the said notice.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in the Borough of
Murupara, for a Secondary School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain public work, namely, the construction of tennis courts for Rangitahi College, and, for the purposes of that public work, the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Murupara, and is there open for inspection; that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of the said land, should, if they have any objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, not being objections to the amount or payment of compensation, set forth the same in writing and send the written objection within 40 days of the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington; and that, if any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing of the objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the hearing.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 1 acre 3 roods 25·4 perches situated in Block XIII, Galatea Survey District, being part Whirinaki No. 1 Section, 2F 2 Block; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 20642 (S.O. 43415) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Declaring an Area for the Operation of Motor Launches and Water Skiers at Lake Tekapo-McKenzie County Council

PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the Minister of Marine hereby declares that, for a period of five years from the date hereof, subject to compliance with the conditions set out in the Second Schedule hereto, the area of water described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that area of water in Lake Tekapo situated in Block XIII, Tekapo Survey District, bounded by lines commencing at a point on the northern boundary of the one-chain lake-edge reserve, such point being on a bearing of 281 degrees 10 minutes and 2450 links distant from a mark on the concrete surface of the New Zealand Electricity Department tunnel intake structure, such mark being the intersection of the centre line of the bridge to the intake and the southern edge of the intake structure; thence north-westerly along the boundary of the said one-chain lake reserve, bearing 313 degrees 6 minutes and distance 1100 links; thence north-easterly along a line bearing 29 degrees 10 minutes, distance 1400 links; then north-easterly along a line bearing 74 degrees 15 minutes, distance 2600 links; thence south-easterly along a line bearing 148 degrees 30 minutes, distance 1250 links; thence south-westerly along a line bearing 210 degrees 30 minutes, distance 1500 links; thence south-westerly along a line bearing 262 degrees, distance 2300 links, to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

  1. The principal limiting lines of the area, being those of bearing 29 degrees 10 minutes, distance 1400 links, and being 262 degrees, distance 2300 links, shall be controlled by marker posts. In the case of the former, the southern end shall be marked by two posts, one near the water's edge, and the other about one chain back and on rising ground. The northern alignment shall be marked also by two posts, placed similarly on the hillside above the skating rink so as to be clearly visible from the lake waters along the line. In the case of the latter line, the western end shall be marked by two posts as above and the alignment eastwards by the northern extremity of the plantation near the shoreline of the eastern side of Lake Tekapo. Posts shall be painted white and surmounted with triangular signs painted red in order that a line-up of each pair of signs will be a clear indication of the principal boundaries of the area in question.

  2. The area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be shown cross hatched on a plan of the lake, on a scale of not less than five chains to one inch, which shall be displayed on the lower portion of a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted white with black lettering, which notice board shall be erected at the place where boats are normally launched.

  3. The upper portion of the aforesaid notice board shall contain the following notice:

“NOTICE
Motor Launch Regulations 1962
There is no speed restriction for motor launches and water skiers using the area shown crosshatched on the plan below”.

Revoking Foreshore Licence for Slipway, Held by Norman Joseph Liddicoat, at Flat Point

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby gives notice that the licence granted on 16 December 1963*, to Norman Joseph Liddicoat, to use and occupy a part of the foreshore at Flat Point as a site for a slipway, as shown on plan M.D. 11672, is revoked.

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby gives notice that the licence granted on 18 December 1962*, to Arthur Ernest Pinkham, to use and occupy a part of the foreshore at Endeavour Inlet as a site for a jetty, as shown on plan M.D. 11358, is revoked.
