  1. Nothing herein contained shall authorise the board to
    do, or cause to be done, anything repugnant to, or inconsistent with, any law relating to the Customs, or with any
    regulation of the Minister of Customs, or with any provision
    of the Harbours Act 1950 or its amendments, or any regulations made thereunder that are, or may hereafter be, in
    force.

  2. The rights, powers, and privileges conferred by this
    Order in Council shall not apply to those portions of the
    foreshore required for securing the shore ends of any telegraph cables that are at present, or may be at any time,
    laid down within the said area of the foreshore.

  3. The Board may enclose any part or parts of the foreshore
    described in the First Schedule hereto for the purpose of
    holding athletic sports or games and may, by bylaws, fix a
    charge for admission to such enclosed part or parts: Provided
    that the total number of days on which such enclosures are
    made shall not exceed six in any one year.

  4. Nothing herein contained shall authorise the Board to
    remove, or cause to be removed, any stone, sand, shingle,
    or shells without the consent of the Minister being first
    obtained.

  5. The said rights, powers, and privileges may be at any
    time resumed by the Governor-General, without payment or
    any compensation whatever, on giving to the Board six
    calendar months' notice in writing. Any such notice shall be
    sufficient if given by the Minister and delivered at, or posted
    to, the last known address of the Board in New Zealand.

Exempting Land in the Nelson Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

Pursuant to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.

SCHEDULE

All that area of land in the Nelson Land District containing 3 acres 2 roods 20 perches, more or less, being part Sections 88 and 94, Block X, Reefton Survey District; contained in certificate of title, Volume 45, folio 88, D.P. 947.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked as above mentioned deposited in the office of the Mines Department at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 13th day of September 1966.

Revoking a Previous Notice Exempting Crown Land from the Operation of the Mining Act 1926, and Exempting Crown Land in the Canterbury Land District from the Operation of the Mining Act 1926

Pursuant to the Mining Act 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notices.

NOTICES

  1. The notice dated 28 May 1965, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 1965, at page 938, is hereby revoked;
    and

  2. The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from the operation of the Mining Act 1926.

SCHEDULE

All that area in the Canterbury Land District containing 64 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the mean-low-water mark of the sea at ordinary spring tides and the production of a line parallel to, and 3 chains west of, the western boundary of land shown on D.P. 19343, and proceeding northerly along that line to the southern side of a road forming the southern boundary of the said D.P. 19343; thence easterly along that roadside to a point in line with the eastern side of a road forming the eastern boundary of Rural Section 24350; thence northerly to, and along, that roadside to a line parallel to, and $10 \frac{1}{2}$ chains north of, the mean-low-water mark at ordinary spring tides; thence easterly along that line to the foot of the cliffs near the outlet of Lake Forsyth; thence south-easterly along the foot of the said cliffs to the aforesaid mean-low-water mark; thence westerly along the mean-low-water mark of the sea at ordinary spring tides to the point of commencement.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the office of the Mines Department at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 8th day of September 1966.

Pursuant to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointment, promotions, extensions of commissions, and date of retirement, transfers, and retirements of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Extension of Date of Retirement Equipment Division

The age for retirement of Group Captain George Kemp Taylor, M.B.E., p.s.c. (70293), is extended until 31 December 1966.

Transfer

Special Duties Division

Squadron Leader Geoffrey Bentley, M.B.E. (73881), is transferred to the Retired List "A", with effect from 3 September 1966.

EDUCATION BRANCH Promotion

Squadron Leader (temp.) Bryan Scott Belcher, A.S.P.E. (70961), to be Squadron Leader, with effect from 21 September 1966.

TERRITORIAL AIR FORCE

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY BRANCH Extension of Commission Special Duties Division

Flight Lieutenant Thomas Grant Miller (72797) is granted an extension of his commission until 4 September 1966.

AIR TRAINING CORPS Appointment

Alwyn Erasmus Boyd is granted a commission in the Air Training Corps in the rank of Pilot Officer for a period ending 20 August 1970, with seniority and effect from 21 August 1966.

Promotion

Flying Officer Lyn Norford Johnston to be Flight Lieutenant, with effect from 24 July 1966.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS Extension of Commission Wing Commander Ralph McFarlane Waite, M.A., DIP.PSYCH., A.B.Ps.S. (133194), is granted an extension of his commission until 16 May 1970.

Transfers

Flight Lieutenant Thomas Grant Miller (72797) is transferred from the Administrative and Supply Branch (Special Duties Division), Territorial Air Force, to the Reserve of Air Force Officers for a period ending 4 September 1970. Flight Lieutenant William Douglas Foster, B.SC. (134133), is transferred to the Retired List "B", with effect from 6 September 1966.

Retirements

The under-mentioned officers are retired, with effect from the date shown:

Flight Lieutenant Harold Rae Costly (132368), 15 August 1966. Flight Lieutenant Alan Gordon Cutten (131547), 14 September 1966. Flying Officer Robert Charles Victor Dale (132997), 9 August 1966.
